Obituary: Tribute to TV Deshmukh

An organiser par excellence

RSS Dakshin Madhya Kshetra (Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) Sanghachalak TV Deshmukh passed away on October 23 following prolonged illness. Born on July 28, 1946 at Vangur village of Palamur district, Deshmukhji was a swayamsevak since school days and after completing graduation became a Pracharak. Later, even continuing in business he contributed in numerous social activities. He was a member in Keshav Memorial Educational Trust, Keshav Samvardhan Samiti and many other organisations. He also played an important role in founding Vaidehi Ashram, an exclusive girls’ orphange home about 25 years back. In RSS he served as Dilsukh Nagar Bagh Sanghachalak before assuming the charge of Prant Sanghachalak in 1993. Since 2011 he was serving as Kshetra Sanghachalak.
Paying tribute at a condolence meeting on October 27, RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi described Deshmukhji as an organiser par excellence. “When, Andhra Pradesh Government tried to limit the abode of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala to two hills only, Deshmukhji by mobilising religious personalities and social activists conducted a mass agitation against the Government decision. Led by Pejawar Swamiji, Justice Parvata Rao and many other eminent personalities the mass movement forced the government to withdraw the controversial order,” Bhaiyaji said.
Justice L Narasimha Reddy, Chairman of Kesava Memorial Educational Trust recalled the role of Deshmukhji in building of the Kesava Memorial Educational institutions. Editor of Andhra Bhoomi Shri MVR Sastry said the Hindu society has lost a committed and sincere social worker. Former Governor of Sikkim Shri V Rama Rao, MP from Secundarabad Shri Bandaru Dattatreya also paid tribute to the departed soul.
Earlier, RSS Sahsarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, in his tribtue, described Deshmukhji as a ‘complete and dedicated swayamsevak, who served the national cause with utmost devotion’. BJP general secretary Shri Ram Madhav described him as a ‘committed and dedicated Sangh Adhikari’.(VSK Telangana)
