Cover Story : First ever sign language telecast

In a first of its kind, sign language interpretation facilities were put in place at the ceremony enabling 18 million deaf to follow the details of the programme. This followed the request by a delegation of National Association of the Deaf led by Anuj Jain to BJP president Shri Rajnath Singh. Doordarshan deputed sign language interpreters not only at the ceremony but also at the telecast. Three sign language interpreters were at duty. ?
