Legacy : Modi and the Legacy

“We got majority to run the government. But to run the country, we need cooperation and support of all and I will get it from every one. …I will accompany all 125 crore people of Bharat and my motto is sabka sath, sabka vikas.” On May 16 when Narendra Modi said this at the Vijay Rally in Vadodara, some prominent journalists participating in penal discussions on various news channels in Delhi asked how can we rely on Modi? The Indian voters while expressing full confidence in Modi's leadership have given him thumping majority, but these journalists still continue to question his reliability.

I feel it is not the fault of these journalists. It is due to the atmosphere of uncertainty and non-confidence prevailing in India since Independence. Nehru-Gandhi family is solely responsible for this situation. They ruled the country most of the period. The family treated India as its own private limited company and never talked about the nation and the people. As a result, an atmosphere of disappointment and inferiority complex generated all over the country. People started believing that suraj and sushasan would never come even after having our ‘own government’ now.

The same sense of uncertainty and non-reliance was expressed during the freedom struggle when some people were suspicious about the success of the freedom movement. At that juncture Swami Vivekananda gave the slogan “Arise, Awake and not Stop till You Achieve Your Goal”. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Gandhiji also gave the mantra of self-awakening and swaraj and motivated the people to move forward with self-confidence. The history witnessed that by the virtue of that high esteem India achieved freedom.

The same high esteem, self-confidence and hope for suraj and sushasan was generated among the people by Narendra Modi during these elections. The only mass leader in India who can be credited to have generated such hope among the countrymen was Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. As a result of this confidence and awakening the BJP has achieved full majority on its own.

This is purely the success of hope, faith and confidence. It is for the first time that a non-Congress government got full majority in the country and the country got rid of unstable coalition governments.

It is the same self-confidence for which the RSS was formed by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in 1925. The dream of param vaibhav envisioned by Dr Saheb then for Bharat is now seem to be materialised by Narendra Modi with the cooperation and support of 125 crore people. Now it is the duty of every countrymen to extend him honest-cooperation and support to build a strong and prosperous nation, as per the dreams of Doctor Hedgewar, Shri Guruji and many other great personalities.

Narendra Modi has been in the RSS working for long. He began his social life as a Sangh Pracharak and devoted himself for the cause of nation building. As a dedicated karyakarta, organisation is supreme for him. During his speech delivered at Central Hall of the Parliament on May 20 he became emotional. He emphasised the importance of organisation and said for him organisation is Mother, and he is proud to serve that Mother. He also remembered Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya and paid his gratitude to the party leadership by saying ‘what we achieved today is the result of the sacrifice of five generations and work of lakhs and lakhs of karyakartas’.

In contrast, Nehru-Gandhi family always cited the sacrifices of a family only and never mentioned the sacrifices made by the national leadership, workers and the people during freedom struggle. For Nehru-Gandhi politics, a family has been above all, but for Narendra Modi nation and organisation are above everything. That is why he gave full credit for this success to the party and the workers. For him Parliament is a temple of democracy and he is committed to fulfill the aspirations of 125 crore countrymen. Have hopes, think positive and wait for the good days to come.
