Prelude: For this column, honestly I neither spoke to the Editor of Organiseron phone nor did I meet him in person to convince him about this column over a drink, like many elite columnists do. It was all through an email. Simply, because as a nameless, faceless, common Indian, I don’t stand anywhere amongst the galaxy of columnists and editors in this country. I didn’t muster enough courage to meet the Editor. Thanks to him for publishing my first piece on February 23, with a rider that I keep my expression within the limits of decency. I agreed. After all, the Editor too is accountable to his weekly magazine and organisation, unlike our esteemed politicians, who have scant respect for our democratic framework and our Constitution. You the readers or the critics ofOrganiser must be thinking what makes this writer adopt a pseudonym for this column. Frankly speaking, I’ve no intention to hide my identity simply because, I don’t have one. My name and photograph as a columnist do not matter because I represent the voice of millions of nameless Indians, who continue to struggle for two square meals a day and clean drinking water, and continue to wait in a queue for small needs and still suffer due to negligence on part of the Government.
Here I speak
What should I write? I have no clue. As a common Indian, as a trueaam aadmiwho desires for a positive change through a change in the country’s political system is again back to square one. Against the hopes that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had raised in us, the act of vandalism by them at BJP’s headquarters followed by incidents of violent scuffles between AAP and BJP supporters on the streets of New Delhi and Lucknow on March 5 was an abysmal low in Indian politics. Who should we trust?
Mr Arvind Kejriwal compelled us to dream for an alternative and vote for a change in the government in Delhi. But, now it’s history. He succeeded in his mission, but we failed. Our dreams got shattered.
Then again the same common man across the country irrespective of religion, caste, creed or sex started dreaming that Lok Sabha election might bring a positive change, with a new government at the Centre. There appeared the name of Gujarat’s chief minister Mr Narendra Modi – the mascot of BJP. The surveys (I will not get into the debate of their authenticity) have forecast Mr Modi being leagues ahead of his closest Congress rival Mr Rahul Gandhi. But, here again Mr Kejriwal who didn’t bother even once about theaam aadmi,and astutely made an exit from the post of Delhi’s chief minister without doing any work, decided to take a plunge into the Lok Sabha election.
Good! Mr Kejriwal is an ambitious man and his track record substantiates it as well. Sorry to say, through his theatrical skills and histrionics, he again gave a clarion call to uproot “A list of corrupt politicians and bring an honest, upright government at the Centre” by pandering to the great Indian middle-class’ sentiments and pent up frustrations due to its unattended grievances.
Immediately, the same media, whom Mr Kejriwal and team accused of “accepting bribes for stories to project Mr Modi and Mr Gandhi, and dumping him”, put him at par with these two prime ministerial candidates.
With the announcement of polling dates and model code of conduct in place on March 5, his blitzkrieg chaotic agitationalmodus operandi against Mr Modi that had given him an instant success against former Delhi CM Ms Sheila Dikshit in assembly polls. Just moving around in a car for a few hours in Gujarat, Mr Kejriwal gave his verdict — “Modi is anti-common man, anti-development etc”. When he was stopped by Gujarat police for a brief moment, his comrades in Delhi unleashed deplorable vandalism at the BJP headquarters. Millions of common Indians saw on TV how AAP supporters acting like hooligans tore posters of widely respected Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Shri LK Advani and others, and pelted stones with sloganeering as an act of demonstration. And worst, in the presence of their leaders like Mr Rajmohan Gandhi and former TV journalist Ashutosh.
Mr Kejriwal spat venom on politicians, ministers, industrialists and journalists, and questioned Mr Modi’s claim on Gujarat’s development. As a common man, may I ask you Mr Kejriwal what is your claim to fame in governance and your achievement as Delhi CM? I quote a common Gujarati who I saw on TV shouting, “Kejriwal, what have you done in Delhi as CM that gives you the right to come to Gujarat and question Modi”.
Even for a moment if we consider your anger against the system as justified, can you tell us what is your contribution in ameliorating the ills? We are appalled by your behavior. Even the strongest opponent Congress never acted against the BJP and vice versa, the way your people didon Wednesday.
Is it due to this that you and your comrades deserted Mr Anna Hazare’s movement, and chose to play to the galleries?
It happened because your party opened its membership door to any passerby, without any background check, to all those lumpen elements and rowdy troublemakers, who are not with any party, but got an opportunity to associate with AAP, especially after you formed the government in Delhi.
I’m no journalist or a member of any think tank. As a common man, I’m quoting a survey shown on TV channels. It says the people of Uttar Pradesh – the state that gave the maximum number of PMs for the maximum period–opted for Mr Modi as PM (44 per cent), followed by Mr Gandhi and others (11 per cent) and you Mr Kejriwal at the lowest at 4 per cent. Now you have another reason to slam the media in the crowd!
Your melodrama of gheraos and dharnasoften proves successful for the NGOs, with malafide intentions, but won’t help you in gaining mileage in the PM’s race. Even the worst political enemies in West Bengal — the Trinamool Congress and the Left, with diametrically opposite ideologies exhibited decorum while announcing their Lok Sabha candidates, unlike AAP.
Now, for God’s sake don’t equate your extremist (often dubbed as urban Maoist) theatrics, topped with slogans like‘Azadi, Swaraj, Inquilab’ with the work done by the greats of our freedom movement – Mangal Pandey, Lokmanya Tilak, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and others. You may have had a meteoric rise, but don’t forget meteors fade away as fast as they appear and that too in a nameless manner.

Anarchy by Kejriwal’s goons squad
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in Gujarat on March 5 following violation of model code of conduct his goons squad stormed the BJP headquarters in Delhi and Lucknow. The AAP goons were led by leaders like Ashutosh, Shazia Ilmi, Rakhi Birla, etc. Ashutosh was named in the FIR filed by Delhi Police in relation to the clashes. About 30 AAP workers were also detained in relation to the case. The FIR was filed at Parliament Street police station on the charges of rioting, preventing public servants from performing their duty, damaging public properties, and causing hurt.
AAP seems to be the latest goons squad hired by the Congress’s dirty tricks department. The practiced deception of Congress is to create diversion each time one of its scam start unraveling. AAP is not a threat to BJP or Shri Modi. Everything about them is murky including their funding sources. There core members hail from Sonia Gandhi’s extra constitutional NGO called NAC. Their legal luminary is a known separatist and many members have been found indulging in the war against the Indian States.

In 2004, Shri Advani, then Dy Prime Minister, was stopped by a Patna DM. On it Advanji said: “I will abide by maryada (model code of conduct) by ending my speech at 10 pm.” Earlier in October in Patna the entire witnessed Bomb Blasts, 5 people losing lives, did BJP resort to any VANDALISM. And there was no reaction from BJP because law of the land was followed. Compare this with this drama of AAP. “We are the people who abide by laws of land and not anarchist. When the Model code of conduct in effect, should Kejriwal not respect it. It was Election Commissioner’s order to stop Kejriwal. Do we want to make this country Libya, Syria,” asked BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi.
She said Arvind Kejriwal, a self proclaimed “anarchist” and an alleged CIA agent, has been instructed by its masters to divert the general public attentions from Agusta Westland scam.
