Rare Open Deliberation on growth in BVSS function
In a rare open deliberation, instead of political speech, BJPs PM candidate Shri Narendra Modi depicted his grand economic vision with intent and clarity. “Soul of village but facilities of urban areas” would be the focus of this grand vision. He explained this while taking questions from financial experts, including CAs, CS, banking, financial and tax consultants in Delhi which was live webcasted in more than 4000 financial firms by Yuva TV. The function was organised by the Bhartiya Vitta Salahkar Samiti.
While expressing his will to handle coalition with clear agenda, he refuted the argument coalition is an obstacle in attaining objectives. He said it is the will and intent, not the coalition or single party government that matters. Sarcastically he said that one of the main complaints against him is he does not get pressurised. On serious note, he explained that if coalition was the problem then why ministries lead by the Congress like Railways could not perform. If the people sitting at the helm of affairs have clear vision then things can be set right at every level.
We should not take urbanisation as a curse but an opportunity. In fact we should try to provide maximum urban facilities in rural areas so that migration from villages is curtailed. Even state aspirations are not antithetical to national aspiration. Being a federal structure, we should consider Prime Minister and Chief Ministers of all the states as a team and not the cabinet seating in Delhi. Business facilitation is necessary for the growth of private sector while professionalisation is required in the public sector so that we should not sell or bail out PSUs. He exemplified this with the agricultural growth in Madhya Pradesh and energy sector in Gujarat.
While taking a firm stand in favour of Goods and Services tax (GST), Modi clarified that the BJP was never against the tax but the government failed to understand that broadband connectivity and IT infrastructure is the pre-requisite for GST, which they never provided before consultation.
The state should be policy driven and not individual driven and for that erosion in credibility of constitution institutions like CAG and CVC is the biggest challenge, Modi concluded. While highlighting the need for bringing transparency in governance, Shri Narendra Modi also called upon all the CAs to contribute in this en devour as they are the one who are trusted by governments, corporate and individuals. If financial advisers perform their role properly, creation of black money will be automatically curtailed.

Pew survey says Modi ahead in PM race
The US based Pew survey, aWashington-based think tank, has claimed that more than 60 per cent Indianvoters favour the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in General election due in May, and less than 20 per cent voters want to backthe rulingCongress. The results of the survey were released on February 26.
The Agency said: “With the Indian Parliamentary elections just weeks away, the Indian public, by a margin of more than three-to-one, would prefer the Hindu-nationalist opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to leadthe nextIndian Government rather than the Indian National Congress (INC), which heads the current left-of-centre governing coalition.”
The survey, however, did not project the number of seats that each party is likely to win and said the BJP’s PM candidateNarendra Modiis more popular than Rahul Gandhi, who is leading the Congress party’s struggling campaign.
Pew interviewed 2,464 randomly selectedvotersin states and territories that are home to roughly 91 per cent of the Indian population, between December 7 and January 12. The survey said more than six-in-ten Indians prefer the BJP to leadthe nextgovernment. The BJP’s backing is consistent across age groups and almost equal between rural (64 per cent) and urban (60 per cent) Indians. The northern states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Delhi, together home to more than 400 million, support the BJP most.

Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addressed the people of the Punjab wearing a saffron turban like a true Punjabi sher. He addressed a joint rally of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and BJP in Jagraon and Ludhiana while coming down heavily at the issues of alleged displacement of Sikh farmers from Kutch region of Gujarat and on ex-servicemen of the country who was fraud by the Congress party.
Trying to assure Sikhs of their safety in Gujarat, Modi said that every Indian has as much right on Gujarat as he himself has on the state. Addressing a ‘fateh’ (victory) rally with leaders from the ally Shiromani Akali Dal on the dais, the Gujarat Chief Minister, who donned a saffron turban, also dismissed “rumors and a pack of lies” the controversy about migration of Sikh farmers from Kutch region in his State. He described the BJP-SAD alliance in Punjab as a symbol of Hindu-Sikh unity which has put to end the “Congress’ game of divide and rule”.
“We have to use modern science for increasing production of crops per hectare. We also have to provide “value-add” to our farmers. For example, the farmer will earn better if he sells ketchup instead of tomato only. He will earn better if he has better idea of packaging and marketing,” added Modi.
Modi in his rally in Ludhiana said that by “delaying” granting of ‘one-rank, one-pension’ for ex-servicemen, Congress has done “fraud” with the armed forces. I assure that no Sikh farmer will be displaced from Kutch and Gujarat,” he said amidst applause from the gathering. If any officer does anything wrong he will go but no Sikh farmer will be displaced from Gujarat,” he added.
“Swagandh muje iss mitti ki… mei desh ko nahi mitne dunga…desh ko nahi tutne dunga… desh ko nahi jhukne dunga…,” he said to the thunderous applause of people gathered at the general ground near the Siang River.
Narendra Modi also, addressed mammoth public rallies at Passighat, Silchar and Agartala on February 22 and at the cities of Punjab on February 23.
During the rally, Modi said that he was pained to see the mess in which the State of Assam has fallen despite all the resources of petroleum and gas. Who brought the State to this pass?” Voices from the crowd shouted ‘Congress’. Modi in his own inimitable manner roused the emotions of the people and reached out to them with the message that he wanted to convey.
Narendra Modi referred to his own State of Gujarat with Pakistan as its neighbouring country without the problem of infiltration. Bangladesh on its border, on the other hand, has become troubling for Assam with constant flow of Bangladeshis due to the vote-bank politics of the Congress.
Coming down to the discriminatory attitude of Dispur towards the tea tribes of Barak Valley in South Assam, he asked why there existed wide disparity in their wages compared to that of the Brahmaputra Valley. “Tea gardens due to the wrong policy of the State are falling sick.
“Due to the Bangladeshi people and incorrect governance, the people of the NorthEastern states are in trouble. Narendra Modi said at a ‘Naba Chetana’ rally at Agartala during his last lap of tour. “Only BJP model can bring about progress and ensure social security, good governance and development. This was proved by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee–led government at the Centre,” he pointed out.
