*  Grand felicitation in Gwalior with 9 kg garland, aarati by 90 lamps and presenting a cheque of Rs 90,000

*  Ninety artists from eight different fields felicitated

Noted Kalasadhak and founder member of Sanskar Bharati Baba Yogendraji turned 91 on January 7. A grand function was held in Gwalior to celebrate the occasion. Baba was felicitated with a nine kg garland, performing aarati by lightening 90 lamps and also presenting him a cheque of Rs 90,000.

The gala event began at 8 am and concluded at 8 pm. The function began with the singing of bhajan by a student of Raja Mansingh Tomar Music and Art University. It was followed by a presentation by noted Dhrupad singer of Kashi Pallav Das. At 9 am, 9 kundaliya yajnas were performed in which 27 families offered the ahutis praying for long life of Baba Yogendraji so that he continues to bless the younger artists.

Speaking on the occasion Baba said the family values are in danger and this degradation is causing damage to the entire society. He said the growing old age home culture is depriving the children of the love of grandparents. The story narration by grandmother at night was full of samskars. But the new generation kids are deprived of it today. The biggest side effect of this new tradition is on old people who are suffering badly due to this.

Baba called upon the people assembled on the occasion to search the talented kids and shape their talent. He also mentioned the extraordinary talent found in some kids, and talked about a kid show on geography recently shown on television. He called upon the Sanskar Bharati workers to find some time every day to search the talent in jhuggi clusters and resettlement colonies.

Ninety artists from eight different fields like Lalit Kala (10), music (28), social service (9), journalism (7), literature (9), play (9), rangoli (5), dance (13) were felicitated on the occasion by Baba. Dr Swatantra Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Raja Mansingh Tomar Music and Art University was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Kamatanath, Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh of Sanskar Bharati said Baba Yogendra is among the people who personally know all the people whom he met even once. “If 10,000 people of the country know Baba, Baba too knows them by name,” he said.  Senior Pracharak of Sanskar Bharati Shri Bankelal expressed his feelings through a poem.
