Brave are slaughtered; And Rogues are honoured!
Institutions are caged; and women are raped!
Non-schemes are sowed; And Scams are mowed!
Lip-service is paid, while nexuses are made!!
This was a part of long list I handed over to God,
And angrily asked, “Where are you, My Lord?”
“I know you are not unkind;
But forgive me, You have gone blind………….”
These instigating words had no effect,
As the God stood solemn, unhindered, perfect!
Offered me a kind smile, with a serious pause;
As He sarcastically appreciated my noble cause!!
“Do you expect me to help every now and then?
Come down regularly and clear the dirt in men.
When things are good, it’s because of human race,
But you are afraid when a few crooks come to surface!”
“But, what can we do as mere helpless citizens?”
I put forth my argument with great diligence,
“Helplessness is not a virtue to be proud about,
It’s the ridiculous way how easy excuses sprout.”
“There is no reason to remain high and dry;
Living in the largest democracy it is a false cry!!
I have bestowed upon you the right to elect,
So it is up to you, whom to select!!”
“Next time, elections are round the corner; Do vote robustly, with all the fervour!
If you miss the unique opportunity, even then,
Nothing can help you; for your ominous disdain!!”
“Henceforth, don’t curse me for your plight,
As the power is in you to set the things right!
Running behind me for an answer is out rightly brazen,
Instead, visit the voting booth to press the right ‘button’!!!”
