The Sarsanghachalak said the country and the people are reeling under price rise, corruption and grappling with threat to its external and internal security. Claiming that there has been no worthwhile development in the country since Independence to alleviate the conditions of the people and improve their quality of life, he exhorted the Sangh workers to motivate the people in the direction of changing the system for better.
Describing Hindutva as a mantra to unite all people he said, “Hindutva is a way of life and an inclusive one with a motto to unify the people and for that to happen, the RSS would strike to strengthen the Hindutva forces and its agenda.”
He said the RSS objective is to continue effort to let the nation realise its potential. He said mere change in the political spectrum will not check corruption, inflation and other burning problems facing the country. “If there has to be a strong India, democracy should be supplemented by strong social, moral and nation-building mechanism,” he said.
He said the only objective of RSS is to build a strong, prosperous nation powered by a society with strong social and moral values where everyone can peacefully co-exist without any caste, creed or sectarian bias. He said the RSS faces several myths due to lack of awareness among the people about its activities. He said the RSS has got no caste or sectarian bias as it works for the renaissance of the rich Indian culture which thrives on the principles of peaceful co-existence and tolerance. –Sanjeev Kumar
Strong protest by Hindu Munnani activists in Chennai
Outraged over the depiction of Hindu icons on the label of alcoholic ginger beer bottles by an Australian brewery company, the activists of Hindu Munnani staged a protest in Chennai. The label on the alcoholic bottles features a figure with Lord Ganesha’s distinctive elephant head superimposed on the body of Goddess Lakshmi. A pot of fire spits from Lord Ganesha’s head and the image holds a stick on one hand and a cow’s head on the other. Distorted depiction of the Hindu deities for mercantile greed by an Australian brewery has come under fire by Hindu community all over the country.
On November 15, the Hindu Munnani volunteers staged protest in front of Australian Embassy demanding apology and the removal of religious iconography. Around 100 volunteers were arrested. Later, a letter of regret by the Australian Government was handed over to the representatives of Hindu Munnani. They also promised to take necessary steps and assured that it will not be repeated. It should be remembered that in 2011 also, Hindus protested when the Hindu deity Goddess Lakshmi was portrayed on a swimsuit at an Australian fashion week.

The birth centenary celebration of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram founder Balasaheb Deshpande is going to begin all over the country from December. The Kalyan Ashram has made extensive preparations for the event. The birth centenary is being celebrated in two phases. In the first phase there was large scale tree plantation during the last one year and now in the second phase health camps will be held all over the Vanvasi areas. Special focus will be made on village contact.
According to Shri Suresh Kulkarni, Akhil Bharatiya Shraddha Jagran Pramukh of Kalyan Ashram, the second phase of the birth centenary celebration will begin from December 22 and instead of organising any big inaugural function there will be functions in all the states, preferably in State capitals from December 22 to 29. Many senior RSS and Kalyan Ashram leaders will attend the functions. However, there will be a big event for concluding ceremony in December 2014.
RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi will address the gathering in Nashik and Mumbai, while Sahsarkaryavahs Shri Sruesh Soni, Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, Shri KC Kannan and Dr Krishna Gopal will address in Indore, Pune, Trivendram and Udaipur respectively. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sewa Pramukh Shri Suhasrao Hiremath will lead in Dombivali (Mumbai) and Madgaon (Goa). In order to press upon its demands raised for the rural workers, the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) staged nationwide protest on November 22. The protest was in continuation of the demands raised by it during the similar protests in the last three year.
According to BMS zonal organising secretary Shri Pawan Kumar, the protests will be held at all block headquarters from November 22 to 29. He pointed out that previously the protests were held at about 2,000 places but this year these protests are to be held at more than 5,000 places. The protests in the states where Assembly elections are being held now, will beheld in December 23. “Our main demands include fixation of minimum wage to Rs 10,000 per month for the Government schemes like MGNREGA, Anganwari, Ashakarmi, etc. Not only fixation, we are also demanding effective implementation of such provisions. We also want that the service conditions of these workers should be determined. They should also get social security and retirement benefits,” added Shri Pawan Kumar, adding that the MGNREGA should be linked with agriculture and minimum 200 days employment should be ensured.
BMS president Shri CK Sajinarayan will lead the protests in Kerala while general secretary Shri Baijnath Rai will lead in West Bengal. Organising secretary Shri KC Mishra will lead in Maharashra while joint organising secretary Shri B Surendran will take charge of Andhra Pradesh. Vice president Shri Kartar Singh will lead in Punjab while north zone zonal organising secretary Shri Pawan Kumar will lead in Uttar Pradesh.
Vishwa Samvada Kendra Karnataka’s new office was inaugurated by veteran Sangh Pracharak Shri Chandrashekar Bhandary on November 16 in a simple ceremony. The new office is located at second floor of the ‘Vikrama’ office building in 5th Main Road in Chamarajapet Bengaluru South. Shri Chandrashekar Bhandary, who is one of the founder trustees of the VSK presided over the trust body meeting held later. Dr MK Shridharan will be new executive trustee of the VSK. One of founder trustees, noted scientist Dr V Sridhar, RSS Prant Prachar Pramukh Vadiraj, new trust members including noted advocate MB Naragund, industrialist BP Srinivas, coordinator of VSK Rajesh Padmar were also present during the inaugural ceremony.
Cow protection wing of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) organised many programmes on November 10 in Ahmedabad to celebrate the Gopashtami and to generate awareness about the cow. A total of 120 functions were held in Ahemdabad, Vadodarea, Rajkot and other places. VHP president Dr Pravin Togadia launched many schemes like ‘GB Connect’ which enables women to earn with respect and ‘Gou Sewak’. On this occasion Dr Togadia highlighted the miraculous uses of the cow-based products. He said the Ayur Veda and modern science have accepted the qualities of panchgavya of indigenous cow. He said the ‘Gou Brands’ helps in ensuring best health of the people. Along with this, women and college youth can earn money with respect by selling these products to their known people and can also help in gou sewa. Dr Togadia also unveiled the ‘Gou Bank’. Replica of beautiful white cow has been made to be used as ‘Gou Bank’.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) started an information centre, help desk and sewa kendram on November 17 at Ernakulam Railway Station for the help of the Sabarimala pilgrims. The facilities provided by the kendram are vehicles at reasonable rent, travel information, drinking water, free food, first aid, etc. The kendram was inaugurated by VHP State president Justice M Ramachandran.
