Sarsanghachalak on Uttarakhand tour
“I t needs samskars and practice not the training to fight against any calamity or tragedy. The RSS does not impart any formal training to the swayamsevaks to fight against the calamities, rather it sows the seeds of samskars based on Hindu thinking, which help them to fight against any tragedy,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat. He was addressing a gathering of swayamsevaks at the Maneri Sewashram in Uttarkashi on October 4. Shri Bhagwat was in Uttarakhand on his two day tour.
Shri Bhagwat further said the samskars which are imparted to the Sangh workers help them to face any type of calamity any time. This is the reason they are seen wining over the misfortune or the problems in different sectors of the society.
The Sarsanghachalak said every swayamsevak has the habit to give to the society and not take anything in return. The recent natural calamity of Uttarakhand is an example of it. Despite being in trouble the swayamsevaks and local people rescued the trapped pilgrims who had come from different parts of the country. They used the entire stock of foodgrains, which they had stored for the future needs. Such a display of affection is definitely praiseworthy. “Every person of the society should develop the habit of fighting against any calamity on its own and should refrain from depending upon the government for everything,” he emphasised. Shri Bhagwat also praised the sewa activities being carried out by the Keshav Sewashram in the Yamuna Valley.
The function was presided over by noted saint of Yamuna Valley Swami Bhagwandas. Shri Vijay Dhasmana of the Himalayan Hospital was the distinguished guest. Prior to the function Shri Bhagwat had the detail information of the Keshav Ashram, hostels and other service projects being run by the Uttaranchal Utthan Parishad and the Uttaranchal Daivi Peedit Sahayata Samiti in the region. Shri Harish Semwal, chief priest of Gangotri Temple, presented Ganga jal to Shri Bhagwat while a representative of Bhotia community presented him a shawl as mark of respect.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included the RSS National Executive Member Shri Indresh Kumar, Dr Dinesh, Kshetra Prachar Pramukh Shri Kripa Shankar, Kshetra Pracharak Shri Shiv Prakash, Prant Pracharak Dr Harish, Prant Sanghachalak Shri Chandrapal Singh Negi, Prant Karyavah Shri Laxmiprasad Jailswal, Shri Prem Barakoti and many others.
