BJP Tamil Nadu State general secretary V Ramesh killed

In a shocking incident, BJP Tamil Nadu State general secretary V Ramesh was brutally killed in Salem by jihadists on the night of July 19. He was 52. A practicing Chartered Accountant, Ramesh also served as Zilla Karyavah from 1987 to 1992 and contested for the post of Mayor for Salem city Municipal Corporation in September 2011.

Popularly known as Auditor Ramesh, he was attacked with sharp-edged weapons and died on the spot. He is the 16th political Hindu leader brutally murdered by terrorists in the last 18 months in Tamil Nadu. Last month, Hindu Munnani State secretary Vellaiyappan was murdered in similar brutal way. BJP State medical wing secretary Dr V Arvind was also killed in front of his clinic in Vellore by a gang in October 2012. BJP workers Arvind Reddy, Pugazendhi, Kaalaiyar Koil Padai  and veteran Ambalam were also murdered in the same way. Hindu Munnani activist Anand of Mettupalayam, MR Gandhi (BJP) of Nagercoil and Hari of Koonoor and many others have been attacked and injured seriously. The law and order in the State is again questionable.

Tamil Nadu Police on July 22 announced the name of three Muslims in connection with the murder of V Ramesh. The culprits named by the police are Madurai Bilal Malik, Fakruddin, and Banna Ismail.

RSS demands effective steps against attackers

RSS Sahsarkaryawah Shri Datatreya Hosabale visited Rameshji’s residence on July 22 to console the family. Later, in a statement he said the killing of Ramesh was a dastardly act of jihadis. “RSS severely condemns this brutality and demands to not only book the culprits but also effective steps to check recurrence of such heinous attacks. The recent spate in violence and terror particularly against nationalist forces in Tamil Nadu is a worrisome development in the State’s public life. There is a clear evil design and conspiracy behind these targeted attacks. All right thinking people should raise united voice against this. The sacrifice of Rameshji would not go in vain. It will inspire karyakartas of the movement to accept the challenge and work with renewed vigour for the cause,” the statement said.

Muslim mischief raises its ugly head again in Ramanathapuram

Jihadi attacks on Hindu activists continue unabated on July 23 in Ramanathapuram district. Two Hindu Munnani activists, Veeramani and Menatchisundar, while travelling in a bike were suddenly attacked by Muslims. Over 200 volunteers of Hindu organisations immediately protested in front of the Collector’s Office for immediate action. Police accepted their complaint.  One Muslim person was arrested and FIR was filed under Section 307. Wounded activists were hospitalised. On the same day and in the same town a demonstration by the Muslim fanatics (Thowheed Jamaath) exposed the extreme intolerance of the Muslims. What triggered the demonstration was the burning of cap normally worn by the Muslims. The incident happened very well inside a mosque again inside a Muslim school (Syed Ammal Matriculation School) compound. The Muslim crowd raised derogatory and filthy slogans about Uma Bharati of the BJP.
