I fail to understand that when Lashkar-e-Tayyeba has itself accepted that Ishrat Jahan was one of its cadre why the CBI is doing this drama. In fact prior to the encounter the Intelligence Bureau had already told the CBI that it had information of Ishrat Jahan’s connections to the Pakistan based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Tayyeba and the IB’s Gujarat station had shared this information with the Gujarat Police. Then in 2007, the Union Minister of Home Affairs in its affidavit filed with the Gujarat High Court clearly said that Ishrat Jahan was recruited by Javed Sheikh who was known to work for the LeT. It also pointed out that after the encounter Ishrat Jahan was hailed as a martyr on the LeT’s website. It appears that the CBI is a puppet in the hands of the Congress and the so-called secular Press is desperate to denigrate Narendra Modi, otherwise why all of a sudden the case file was opened following the appointment of Shri Modi as the BJP’s Election Campaign Committee’s chief.

Fruits of working in tandem with the Nature (Organiser, 7-7-2013) This refers to the column “The Trendsetter” by Pramod Kumar in Organiser. In course of the recent deluge in Uttarakhand State, we find various stories built up by the self vested people and rumours being spread that the disaster has taken place due to a cloud burst or aliens have come down to earth from other planets and have disturbed the situation or that this has reoccurred again after 200 years. Some even say that a statue of Goddess was relocated and hence this disaster has been caused, etc. Perhaps this blame game is being carried out to divert the mind of the people from the reality. But the actual fact is that it is a man-made disaster. The bare fact lies in the deforestation that has taken place extensively and disproportionately due to various projects taken up by the government without taking enough care of the nature, in that region. In the catchment area of the river Ganga and Yamuna, the trees of that forest area holds the soil and in turn the soil holds the water of the monsoon rains and thus we never witnessed such a disaster upto this day. This phenomenon holds good for all the rivers of the world. Now as the soil denuded of the trees, neither the soil nor the water will be retained but will flow away easily, especially in the sloppy region of Himalayan mountain ranges. It is a shame and pity to see how our democracy is misguiding the people to cover its defaults and shockingly people being carried away by it.

Saving Souls (Organiser 7.7.2013); This refers to ‘Saving Souls’ the front page story of Organiser. Kudos to the Indian Army and the Air Force for saving the lives of thousands of people in Uttarakhand without entering into petty politics as our political leaders are involved in. Instead of facing the challenge of the nature and helping the victims the incompetent government of Uttarakhand is entering into petty politics. The refusal of the Congress led government in Uttarakhand to accept aid from Gujarat government is a reflection of the close-minded irrational attitude of the UPA government. Shri Modi’s offer of help is genuine since everyone knows that Gujarat have previous experience in reconstruction and rehabilitation in the wake of natural disasters. By refusing it the Congress led Bahuguna’s government has deprived the people of Uttarakhand of the much needed relief and in the process exhibited its Modi phobia.

Delhi Government withholding the pension of senior citizens It is ironical that on one hand Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit is asking the people to fill the forms under ‘Aanshree’ scheme and on the other hand she is withholding the pension of over fifty thousand old people. These senior citizens have applied for the old age pension after completing the required procedures and their forms were duly attested by the MLA’s. Even Social Welfare Department has also sanctioned pension for these people but the Chief Minister has not only withheld the pension orders but also ordered action against the officials for granting pension without her permission. It is shocking to see Chief Minister spending millions on misleading advertisements showcasing her imagined and false achievements. Her government has wasted huge amount of money under the garb of beautifying Delhi and has bailed out the task to inefficient companies but is not ready to provide relief to the poor senior citizens of the capital.

Dynasty rule Starting from the Centre and trickling down to the states the question who is going to be the next PM or CM seems to be the disease our politicians are suffering from nowadays. Our PM set the ball rolling when he said that Rahul Gandhi will step into his shoes and dynastic rule will and should continue. Instead of coming out the economic morass into which we have got caught, curbing inflation, forming a corrupt free governance, everyone including our PM is talking about 2014 elections. Just remember Mr PM by announcing dynastic rule and projecting Rahul Gandhi, who lacks experience except carries the name of Gandhi will take us nowhere. You are only sending wrong signals to the states. Your suggestions are neither stable nor durable one. People and country will suffer.

Write-ups on Maoists massacre in Organiser (9.6.2013); This refers to a number of writer-ups regarding May 25, 2013 massacre, executed by Maoists in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, in Organiser issue dated 9.6.2013. The whole matter has been discussed in detail, but one important matter, which has been omitted, is lack of attention and lack of development in the tribal areas. These areas are rich in minerals, and all these years were exploited without any benefit to the tribal population, rather at the cost of tribal people. The fact is that Congress rulers have been busy in amassing money and not caring for development of the region. In addition Congress anti-Hindu rulers have been exhausting all the resources and revenue, collected from the Hindu population, in developing regions populated by anti-national Muslims and Christians i.e. Kashmir Valley and the North-East. This has been the basic anti-Hindu philosophy of the Congress. Maoists are not fighting for any Hindu cause, but are under the influence of anti-Hindu Communist philosophy, still many Congress leaders cunningly call them as Hindu terrorists, only to hide the sins of Muslim terrorism. In nutshell, the anti-Hindu philosophy of Congress is the root cause of Maoist terror.

Need to promote reading habits among children (Organiser, 14.7.2013); Apropos of the news item ‘Need to promote reading habits among children’ in the News Round-up page of Organiser. I very well accept the view that the students of the present generation achieve only education from school but lack moral values which are the foundation and necessity of our society. It has been rightly said that if we lose the basic values of life and society we will soon land in doldrums. Although we are living in an electronic era but I personally feel that one must maintain a library in his house. Further, the books collected in the house should not remain in the showcases but the family members should read and imbibe them, whenever they get time.

Sarkari damads As a journalist and letter writer for various newspapers and magazines, I am not at all afraid of writing against our corrupt Police force, MLAs, politicians and judicial system. Take a round in the market, and you will see cops taking bribe from dhabawallas, vegetable vendors and fruit sellers. These poor men, who earn very little, are harassed by the cops everyday. And if you resist in giving them (the cops) your money, you are beaten black and blue and a false case is registered against you. Police is aware of all this, but is doing nothing to help the poor citizens of our country. They only trusts their own men in uniform rather than the public who is harassed by the Police department.
