Instill a sense of valour into the Hindu society—Dr Togadia
Though the Hindu society did not lack in valour and courage, it has been suppressed by excessive doses of non-violence in the last 200 years. The growing insults heaped on Hindu society are resulting out of this inaction and indifferent attitude that has crept in the society following these overdoses of non-violence. The time has come to throw off this inertia and stand with fresh strength, vigour and valour to protect the 100 crore Hindu society and dharma in India, appealed Dr Pravin Togadia, International Working President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).
Dr Togadia was speaking at the concluding ceremony of Bajrang Dal training camp in Nagpur on June 5. Shri Baljindersingh Nair presided over the function, while VHP Vidarbha Prant president Shri Vijayjit Valia, vice president Prof Hemant Jambhekar, secretary Shri Ajay Nildawar and Shri Umesh Pradhan were also present on the occasion.
Dr Togadia said the Bajrang Dal now has to perform a greater role of protecting the Hindu society which finds itself under all kinds of attacks from anti-Hindu forces. The Hindus are 100 crore in the population of 120 crore yet they are subjected to humiliating insults, their daughters, sisters and mothers are molested, their rights are denied and the political powers are trying to wedge a divide in the Hindu society in the name of castes, reservations, languages etc. All these efforts should be defeated and for this the Hindu society will have to be prepared. Bajarang Dal will have to instill this sense of valour, confidence and strength in the Hindu society once again, Dr Togadia said.
Lashing out at attempts to weaken the Hindu society by offering reservations to other communities, Shri Togadia said any society which loses its bravery, self-esteem and valour meets such consequences. This situation will have to be reversed so save the Hindu society and this nation. He also criticised the attempts to rechristen the historic Nagpur Railway Station after a local Muslim Sufi saint, Baba Tajuddin Auliya. The VHP leader said Nagpur is known by the rules which the Bhonslas made specially for Nagpur. Besides, Nagpur has produced a great number of stalwarts and social and political leaders whose name could be given to the Railway Station. Instead, moves are afoot to rename Nagpur Railway Station after those who never mixed with and never considered them as part of Hindu society. This is ridiculous and such moves should be opposed tooth and nail.                 (Virag Pachpore)

Train passengers cheer Grahak Panchayat

Tamil Nadu unit of Grahak Panchayat achieved another victory on May 25 when a new passenger train from Salem to Karur was flagged off. The journey by train is not only cheaper compare to the bus but also it has reduced span of journey from three hours to two hours. Thousands of passengers enjoyed this cheap conveyance on May 25. The new track of the train also reduced the distance up to 41 km. The Grahak Panchayat workers distributed sweets in the new train. They also distributed pamphlets detailing the struggle by them to realise this facility. Not content with this, the ABGP has petitioned the Southern Railways to extend the route up to Trichy junction. Swami Aishwaryananda visits Kalyan Ashram projects in Tripura, Mizoram

Swami Aishwaryananda of ‘Movement for Seva’ visited some projects run by the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram in Tripura and Mizoram. He addressed seven meetings in both the states. The meeting with Reang Vanvasis of Mizoram at Ashapara village was very inspiring.
It is to be noted that many Reang students from the refugee camps have been taken by Kalyan Ashram workers to different hostels to make them self-reliant. Swami Aishwaryananda has also selected some students (both boys and girls) and they are now being imparted education in Madhya Pradesh.  Kalyan Ashram has been fighting for the cause of Reang Vanvasis for more than a decade. A case has been filed in the Supreme Court for their settlement. The case is being pursued by Delhi based senior activist Shri Surya Narayan Saxena. Swamiji addressed a meeting at Rajiv Nagar on Banladesh in Mizoram for establishment of new Ashram and organisation of Chakma Vanvasis. Chakmas were very happy with the visit of Swamiji in their area.
Swamiji was accompanied by vice president of the Kalyan Ashram Shri Kripa Prasad Singh, Kalyan Ashram Tripura and Mizora organising secretary Shri Rajesh Das, Shri Manoj Riand, from Mizoram. Swamiji also met the hostel girls at Kumarghat and Agartala and the committee members. (FOC)

Vijnana Bharati to organise ‘Tech for Seva’

Vijnana Bharati, in collaboration with Seva Sahayog, Global Indian Scientists and Technocrats Foundation (GIST) and Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha (MKSSS) will organise ‘Tech for Seva’, a socio-technical conference on inclusive and sustainable social development on September 28-29, 2013 at Cummins Engineering College in Pune. The conference will be dedicated to Swami Vivekananda on his 150th birth anniversary year.
The conference intends to be a medium for the exchange of initiatives, intentions and information. Tech for Seva is a platform for deliberations and debates, evaluations and explorations, recommendations and resolutions that will lead to an amalgamation of ideas from all the major contributors. Though the efforts are going on for positive social change and development at the grass roots level with the intervention of effective scientific and technological tools, the desired impact is yet to arrive on ground. This reality can be attributed to a major disconnect between scientific-technological solution providers and scientific-technological solution seekers. The Tech for Seva aims at bridging this gap by providing a connecting platform for the solution providers and solution seekers.
There is also a need to create a conducive, favourable ambience in the society in which the seekers will strive to pull the solutions and providers will understand the responsibility to push the solutions to the needy commoners. Scientific and technological research and academic institutions—public and private both, corporate with CSR initiatives, and NGOs working as social change agents and individual solution seekers will be the main stakeholders of the conference.
The conference will be deliberating on topics related to Education, Health, Livelihood and Environment. Scholarly papers will be presented in the conference. Besides posters on success stories and problems to be addressed; Expo showcasing relevant and appropriate technologies along with solutions manifested into reality and student competition in ideas which highlight the use of technology to solve problems will be added attraction of the conference. CSR representative, professionals and students, scientists and technocrats, government organisations, NGOs, social workers, and socially conscious citizens can register for the conference. (FOC)

Senior Pracharak Deevi Dwarakacharya is no more

Veteran Pracharak of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Deevi Dwarakacharya, passed away on May 30 at Woodlands Hospital of Barkatpura in Hyderabad. He was unwell for a few days. Born in Avanigadda village of Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, he completed Polytechnic. After studies he became a Pracharak in 1963. First he worked in Kurnool Town as Nagar Pracharak. After that he worked in Nelloore, Vijayawada and Hyderabad as Zilla Pracharak as well as Vibhag Pracharak. He worked in Vanvasi Kalyan Parishad, Arunachal Pradesh for some time.
Prominent among those who paid tribute to Dwarakacharya included VHP patron Shri Ashok Singhal, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram’s national joint organising secretary Shri Ramachandraiah and many other Sangh leaders. The cremation took place in Hyderabad only.
