Foreign interference in media could prove very costly—Ashok Tandon
“There is almost a flood of news channels in the country. Hundreds of channels have gone air, while many hundred are in the pipeline. But the objective of majority of the channels is profit making and not the protection of the national interest. They trust the news of foreign agencies and air them without cross checking the facts. But at the same time they avoid using the news released by the Indian news agencies.

Lecture on new paradigms of Indian Education
Education has never been for individual gain in India —Indumati Katdare
“Education has been imparted in our country as a samskar. It was neither sold or purchased nor was mechanised like today,” said director of Punrutthan Trust, Ahmedabad, Sushri Indumati Katdare. She was delivering a lecture organised by the Shaikshik Manthan Sansthan in Jaipur on May 17.
Sushri Katdare said the education in our country began from home and everything around a child in the family was for inculcating and imparting samskars. First five years of the child were for love and the next 16 years were for study. After the age of 16 years, the child was treated like a friend. This is the set rule prescribed by our ancestors for educating and bringing up the child. She said under this system of education a child was not said no to any thing till the age of five years. The objective of it was to ensure that a child can do whatever he/she wishes to do. The age after five years was for imparting different kinds of samskars and values in the form of education. But today the education system that has been adopted in our country is only leading us to destruction. The creativity is erasing from life. What we need is balance of knowledge, culture and samskars. Education has never been for individual gain in our country rather it was according to the needs of the nation and the society,” she added. Presiding over the function president of the Sansthan Dr Vimal Prasad Agrawal said the major crisis today is of character building and until it is looked after properly, the problems would remain the same. Secretary of the Sansthan Shri Mahendra Kapur apprised the gathering of the activities of the Sansthan.
