General Body meeting of Sewa Bharati Delhi

-RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat appealed to the people to spare at least one sixth of their time every day for sewa activities. “Our objective is that every section of the society should be strong enough and nobody should remain weak. Therefore, to achieve this objective it is imperative on our part to accelerate the sewa work and ensure that at least one sixth of our time daily should be utilised for the service of needy persons,” he said exhorting the Sewa Bharati workers in Delhi on April 28.

Shri Bhagwat was addressing the annual general body meeting of Sewa Bharati Delhi. Hundreds of Sewa Bharati workers from different parts of the national capital attended the meeting. RSS Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Shri Kulbhushan Ahuja, Sewa Bharati Delhi president Shri Tarun Gupta, former Akhil Bharatiya Sewa Pramukh Shri Premchand Goel, Rashtriya Sewa Bharati organising secretary Shri Sunderlakshman, national joint secretary of Rashtriya Sewa Bharati Smt Renu Pathak, patron of Sewa Bharati Delhi Shri Jainarayan Khandelwal were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering Shri Mohan Bhagwat stressed the need that those who are being served today should tomorrow become the server. He said serving others definitely makes one happy. He said self-less service eradicates egos and makes one polite. “Need of the hour is that those who are active in the field of sewa should keep their mind clean and work with renewed vigour,” he said.

Recalling the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda Shri Bhagwat said Swamji saw god among the human beings and focused on serving the god in the form of the needy. He said Swami Vivekananda inspired so many people for sewa activities and the large network of sewa projects that is run by Ramakrishna Mission is an inspiration for those who are working in the field of sewa. He said the befitting tribute to Swamiji in this 150th anniversary year would be to serve maximum needy people and make them able like all of us.

Prior to the speech of Shri Mohan Bhagwat, state executive meeting was held at Keshav Kunj. It was followed by general body meeting. The meeting was presided over by Sewa Bharati Delhi president Shri Tarun Gupta. The workers also recited ‘Shri Ram Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram’ mantra 108 times. The workers were urged to perform 13 beads of the mantra every day. Since it is the 150th birth anniversary year of Swami Vivekananda, the workers were suggested to distribute pictures, stickers and books on Swamiji to the people. Every worker was advised to contact at least 10 families for this objective. Secretary of Sewa Bharati, Delhi, Dr Ramkumar, presented the annual report.  He also provided a road map for the activities to be taken up during the next year.    (FOC)
