BJP State Executive Meet in Chitrakoot

Dr Shakti Kumar Pandey from Chitrakoot

SENIOR BJP leader LK Advani said the RSS is the workshop, which manufactures patriots and noble citizens with an ideal personality, and the country needs such people now, as the nation’s pride and security is at stake. It was the RSS that changed my vision and life even at the age of fourteen, he added, saying that the political ideology of BJP is the outcome of cultural nationalism that we have imbibed from RSS.
Shri Advani lambasted the Congress government at the centre for rampant corruption and called upon the BJP workers to fight out corruption with all their might, because without that we cannot think of nation’s progress and prosperity.

Addressing the state executive of the BJP in Chitrakoot, he said Lohia had also favoured organising a Ramayan Mela at the venue of the meeting, called Ramayan Mela Parisar. Shri Advani said when he had first met Lohia as a journalist, Lohia had said that he was in the Samajwadi Party but he respected the BJP’s philosophy of ‘Rashtravad’. “Lohiaji had said that BJP talks about nationalism and cultural nationalism, but Muslims do not get attracted towards BJP because it writes about ‘Akhand Bharat’ in its poll manifesto,” Advani said.
According to Advani, Lohia had explained that Muslims were worried about the BJP’s concept of ‘Akhand Bharat’, they had an apprehension that if the BJP comes to power at the Centre, India will attack Pakistan to rule there. “Deen Dayal Upadhyay (BJP ideologue) explained to Lohia that the BJP’s definition of ‘Akhand Bharat’ was a confederation of India and Pakistan. Later both Lohia and Upadhyay had issued a joint statement on it,” Advani said.

He said that about two years back when all members had assembled in Parliament to pay tributes to Lohia on his birth anniversary, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had asked Advani about the possibilities of creation of the ‘confederation’ that Lohia had talked about. “I told the PM that it was possible in the period of Lohia and later in the BJP government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. But now it is almost impossible in the current situation due to the policies of the Congress,” Advani said.

“I hope Lok Sabha polls will be held in 2013 after the assembly polls in six states… whenever they (polls) will take place, it is certain that Congress will taste defeat”, Advani told reporters in Chitrakoot on the sidelines of a two-day state BJP executive meeting. Asserting that the political system has been converted into a bi-polar polity by his party, he said “there will be no government at the Centre without (the backing of)  BJP or Congress… it may not be a two-party system but it has certainly been converted by the BJP’s efforts into a bipolar polity”.

The BJP veteran said in the elections in Karnataka, Delhi,Chhatisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand the main fight will be between the BJP and Congress. “BJP is expecting good results in these six states after which Lok Sabha polls will be held,” Advani said claiming that common man was fed up with scams and corruption in the present regime and wanted to get rid of the present government.
