Swami Satyamitrananda Giri honoured with Rashtriya Shikhar Pratibha Samman

NOTED saint and founder of Bharat Mata Mandir Haridwar, Swami Satyamitrananda Giri was honoured with Rashtriya Shikhar Pratibha Samman by Shree Burrabazar Kumarsabha Pustakalaya on November 19. The Samman was presented by former Union Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi. Sadhvi Ritambhara was also present on the occasion. Various religious organisations of Kolkata also felicitated Swamiji. This Puraskar has been instituted by the Pustakalaya during its centenary year. The first Samman was presented to Shri Basant Kumar Birla and Dr Sarala Birla last year.

Born on September 19, 1932, Swami Satyamitrananda Giri was initiated by Swami Sadananda Giri on April 29, 1960. Later, he travelled to many countries of the world. He founded the Samanvya Kutir in 1970 in Haridwar and dedicated himself to the uplift and religious awakening among downtrodden and Vanvasis. He laid the foundation of Bharatmata Mandir on October 17, 1979. He also actively participated in cow protection movment of 1963-64 and Shri Ramjanmabhoomi movement. He is also a member of VHP’s Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal.           (FOC)
