Congress dilemma

A debate is raging within the Congress on whether to declare Rahul Gandhi as its Prime Ministerial candidate. A section in the Congress indicated that Rahul perhaps is the “only hope” for the party to get votes. The argument is: “He is from the Gandhi family. Only charismatic face. He is good looking. Urban voters would relate to him.” This particular section, of course does not talk about Rahul’s contribution to Indian politics or the organisation. “That’s a tricky territory. Less said the better,” they say. However, the Congress is waiting and watching the BJP’s move. “Our only fear is that if BJP declares Narendra Modi as its PM candidate, then we might go to polls without officially declaring any PM candidate.”
