A Hindi book, Apritam Nayak: Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, was released in New Delhi on October 26. Senior BJP leader Shri LK Advani, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Smt Sushma Swaraj and RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sampark Pramukh Shri Arun Kumar were prominently present at the function.
The book has originally been written in English by Shri Tathagat Roy and its Hindi translation has been done by senior journalist Shri Sushil Rajesh. The book has been published by Prabhat Prakashan, New Delhi.
Releasing the book Shri Arun Kumar described the book as a reference book of that period. “The book provides very vital information about the situation of the period from 1953 to 1954. He said after the sacrifice of Dr Mookerjee the process of J&K integration began and today 264 of the total 394 Articles of the Constitution are applicable on J&K. In those days it had been decided to hoist the Indian tricolour only at two occasions and now the tricolour is hoisted on every occasion.
Shri Advani stressed the need that the message of Dr Mookerjee should be imbibed by one and all and especially by the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister. Smt Sushma Swaraj said those who wish to know Dr Mookerjee must read this book.                   (FOC)
