SHRI S Sethumadhavan, National Executive Member and former Dakshin Kshetra Pracharak of RSS said it is not for the unity among the organisations, but for unity among the Hindus in all organisations that Kerala looks for. “Hindus should unite, cutting across party lines, on the very basis of Hindutva. This is essential for the very existence and progress of not only Bharat but also the whole world. It has nothing to do with an electoral alliance for any electoral victory. History of communist movement has been the history of the anti-national attitude and sentiments. They made the philosophical foundation for internationalism, which did lead to the Partition of the country and they always advocated for that doctrine. They played the equal role along with Congress and Muslim League with respect to the Partition. They propagated that India is not a nation,” he said.

Shri Sethumadhavan was delivering the key note address in connection with the release of Malabar Simham TN Bharathan, a book written by Shri R Venugopal, a senior RSS Pracharak of Kerala and former national president of BMS. It is the life history of the late TN Bharathan, Sangh Pracharak of 1940s – 1950s and senior leader of RSS, Jan Sangh and BJP in the state.

Shri Sethumadhavan said the late JP liked all non-Congress parties to come together to fight Emergency. But, communists sabotaged it. So, when the country voted for an anti-Emergency mandate, CPM attitude paved the way for Congress victory in Kerala. People hated CPM and their violent politics much more than they hated the autocratic regime of Smt Gandhi. Pt Deendayal Upadhyayaji was for keeping aloof from political parties with extra territorial loyalty and philosophy of violence. Shri Guruji believed that communism as a philosophy is unscientific and dangerous in practice. Communists have been stating that majority communalism is more dangerous and they would not mind to wield armed attacks against it. Based on this hypothesis, they unleashed violent attacks against Sangh, hence Kerala witnessed bloodbaths after bloodbaths.  However, now Kerala undergoes unity of Hindu society cutting across party lines. It is this change that TN Bharathan dreamed for. RSS has got only one stand: ‘Today’s swayamsevak and tomorrow’s swaymasevak’.

He further stated that TN Bharathan played a crucial rule in Malabar’s social history. The mission he shouldered in saving Hindus from the unilateral suzerainty of Muslims in Malabar and boosting their morale was tremendous. Bharathan (popularly known as Bharathettan meaning elder brother Bharathan) was too proud to permit his son Durgadas to be a Pracharak. He was not broken when Durgan was killed by blood thirsty CPM men. When the friends tried to console him, he was referring to the parents of the numerous young swayamsevaks who were brutally massacred by CPM killers in Kannur district. This is the apt time when Hindus should organise themselves cutting across party lines.

Dr K Madhavankutty received the first copy of the book. BJP National Executive Member Adv PS Sreedharan Pillai presided. BMS national president Adv Saji Narayan inaugurated. Author R Venugopal, Kesari Managing editor U Gopala Mallar, BJP National Executive Member MT Ramesh, C Ratnakaran and TH Valsaraj spoke.

Shri Sethumadhavan’s comment about CPM is of utmost significance in the wake of CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan’s recent attack against RSS. He stated that they are always fighting against the fascist ideologies of RSS and their fanatic designs. Pinarayi alleged that RSS writers argue for closer ties between both organisations with the sole aim of their image building, because, they hope that ties with CPM would give them cleaner image.  Pinarayi’s statement is reported to be the reaction to a recent article appeared in Kesari Malayalam weekly run by Sangh in Kerala. The Kesari article advocated for close relations between RSS and CPM. The article wonders why should both organisations hesitate to co-operate with each other.
