“MAJORITY of the educational activities being carried out in our country are basically strengthening the roots of the European education and not our glorious rich Indian education system, which had made Bharat a Vishwaguru. We all must think whether it should continue,” said noted educationist and director of Punrutthan Vidyapeeth Smt Indumati Katdare. She was speaking at a function organised in New Delhi on September 4. The function was organised by the Deendayal Research Institute. Through her Ahmedabad based institute Smt Katdare is conducting new experiments to restore the pride of Indian education system.
She said education in India today depends upon the government which happens nowhere in the world. Till the 19th century the kings and the administration all bowed to the teachers but today they control the entire education system. She said the education which was free has now been commercialised beyond one’s imagination. Without bringing total change in this system the pride of the education cannot be restored. (FOC)
