Veteran swayamsevak Dr Madhav Bhandari is no more

Veteran swayamsevak of Mangalore Dr Madhav Bhandari passed away on July 17. He was 72. He was suffering from an age related illness. Dr Bhandari, a popular physician of Mangalore city was Vibhag Sanghachalak and had a wide public relation through which hundreds of citizens came in contact with the RSS in Mangalore. Senior RSS leaders including Sahsarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, Shri Ma Venkataramu, Shri Mai Cha Jayadev, Shri Da Ma Ravindra, Shri Chandrashekhara Bhandari, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh Shri Nanda Kumar and expressed their condolences.

Born in Mangalore in 1940, Dr Bhandari completed his school education at Canara High School Urwa. Later, he completed his studies in medicine at Kasturba Medical College. Since then he was a practicing Physician in Alopathy. During 1967, Dr Bhandari came in contact with the RSS. In 1968, through an interaction with the then second Sarsanghachalak Shri Guruji turned his life vision. Since then till death he was an active functionary of the RSS holding various responsibilities. He held the responsibility of Vibhag Sanghachalak till 2006.

Dr Bhandari was also closely associated with Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee, Shri LK Advani, Shri Ashok Singhal, Shri KS Sudarshan and many other prominent national leaders. He also held various responsibilities of the RSS initiated organisations like Hosadigantha, Keshava Smruti Samvardhana Samiti, etc which were grown and established due the contributions of the key persons like Dr Madhav Bhandari.
