DG Lakshman retires from Hosadigantha

Veteran journalist, writer and social thinker Shri DG Lakshman who will turn 60 in July, retired from Hosadigantha as chief editor. He was associated with Hosadigantha, a leading Kannada daily, for the last 26 years. He worked untiringly for the upliftment of the newspaper right from the days of its inception. However, even after his retirement, he will continue as one of the Directors of the Jana Bharati Prakashan Limited, under which Hosadigantha, Vikarama (a weekly) and Aseema (monthly) are published. He will continue to head the oldest Sangh journal of Karnataka, Vikjrama, which was instituted in 1948.
Shri Lakshman has also authored many books including Kargil Kampana, based on the Kargil war and Ghosh Tapaswi on RSS Pracharak Subbu Srinivas. He has been honoured with the prestigious Nachiketha Award in 2003 by the former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee. In 2009, he was conferred the NB Lele Award by Hindustan Samachar. He also got Charaka Award from Governor of Karnataka in 2010 and Rajyostava Award in 2010. Currently Shri Lakshman is also the Sah Prant Prachar Pramukh of RSS Karnataka.
