Three-day national convention of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh in Mysore
Bharatiya Kisan Sangh organised its three-day national convention, Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, in Mysore from February 3 to 5. Over 2,000 representatives from different states of the country participated in the conference.
Shri Shivarathreeshwara Swamiji of Suttur Mutt inaugurated the event by hoisting the BKS flag. After a spectacular procession, Shri Sunil Pandey, national general secretary of the BKS addressed the gathering of around 3,000 farmers of Karnataka and 2,000 representatives.
Presiding over the event, Shri Ananta Ramachandra Murukute, national president of BKS, called for an organised effort to non-politically unite the agriculture sector. He gave the slogan ‘United Farmers-Prosperous India’.
An exhibition was organised on indigenous seeds of rice, several ancient domestic agricultural tools and apparatus. The convention passed a major resolution which highlighted the basic needs of a farmers like facility of a quickest agricultural loan without interest, distribution of Kisan Credit Card, quick measures on damage of agricultural land during natural calamities, etc.
BKS State general secretary Shri BK Ramesh, organising secretary Shri Puttaswamy, BKS top functionaries including Shri Basavana Gouda, Shri Somanna Harlapur, etc were also present on the occasion.
