Sukumar Raichaudhary to be honoured with 26th Vivekananda Sewa Samman

Shri Sukumar Raichaudhary, founder of Bodail Upajati Kalyan Ashram, Buniyadpur, West Bengal, has been selected for the prestigious Vivekananda Sewa Samman, 2012. The Samman will be presented at a function to be organised in Kolkata on February 12. The Puraskar consists of cash prize of Rs 51,000, a citation and a memento. Born in 1929 at Yadavpur under 24 Paragana district of West Bengal Shri Raichaudhary received graduate degree in science in 1951. He toured the country for 12 years with a Naga sannyasi. Later, he decided to dedicate his life to the service activities. He formed Bodial Upajati Kalyan Ashram with the active cooperation and guidance of Arya Guru Shri Shiv Murmu in 1976 for the uplift of Vanvasis. He runs a hostel for Vanvasis students and till now thousands of students have been benefited with the hostel. Even in the age of 82 he is active for his mission.
