Veteran BJP leader Shri Mangeram Garg has turned 76. His Amrit Mahotsava was organised in New Delhi on November 23. Many senior BJP leaders and distinguished people from various sections of the
society wished for long life of Shri Garg.

-Prominent personalities who were present on the occasion included BJP national president Shri Nitin Gadkari, senior party leader Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, former party president Shri Rajnath Singh, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Shri Arun Jaitley, Union Minister Shri Pawan Bansal, Delhi BJP president Shri Vijendra Gupta, veteran VHP leader Acharya Giriraj Kishore, VHP general secretary Dr Pravin Togadia, BJP general secretary Shri JP Nadha, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra, former party president Shri Bangaru Laxman, BJP general secretary (organisation) Shri Ramlal, general secretary Shri Vijay Goel, Congress MP Shri Mahabal Mishra, former state BJP president Shri OP Kohli and Dr Harsh Vardhan, former Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, noted businessman Shri Rikhab Chand Jain, Mayor of Delhi Prof. Rajni Abbi, etc.

-Born on November 23, 1936 in Kurar village of Haryana Shri Garg has been involved in service activities since his young age. Apart from his active political life as Delhi State BJP president and also MLA in Delhi, Shri Garg was instrumental in the formation of Dharmayatra Mahasangh. Under this banner he started many developmental activities at various pilgrimage places including Haridwar, Govardhan, Vrindavan, etc. Many dharmshalas constructed at these places with modern facilities are serving thousands of pilgrims every year.

-In his 55 years political life Shri Garg always gave due  importance to the party workers. In this way he developed live contact with the workers. He has five sons who are also dedicated to social service. With a distinguished and multifaceted personality the life of Shri Garg is an inspiration.
