20-day long padyatra by BJP Human Rights Cell in UP

Educating people against human rights violations under Mayawati regime?

-National Convener of BJP Human Rights Cell Shri Sudhir Agrawal is on a 20-day padyatra in Uttar Pradesh against the gross human rights violations under Mayawati regime. The padyatra was flagged off by party”s national secretary Smt Kiran Maheshwari from Lucknow on November 27.

Traversing through hundreds of villages, towns and cities of Uttar Pradesh the Yatra will reach BJP headquarters in New Delhi on December 16. It will cover the distance of over 500 km. During the padyatra, the workers of Human Rights Cell are interacting with people, organising meetings, delivering lectures and are holding press conferences to create awareness among the people about human rights as guaranteed by the Constitution of India.

After covering the distance of over 250 kms, the padyatra reached Bareilly on December 5. Addressing a meeting there, Shri Sudhir Agrawal said Mayawati Government has crossed all limits of inefficiency and mis-governance. “If one counts the misdeeds of this government, one will definitely say Mayawati Government has lost all moral right to continue in  power. Rapes, murders, loot, corruption have all made the life of people miserable. Breaking all records over the years, number of complaints from UP remained highest with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). Crime record of the state is again high in the whole country. Over 29 elected legislators, ministers are involved in heinous crimes. The long list of scams has only eroded the trust of public in democratic system in the state,” said Shri Agarwal.

-Starting from party office in Lucknow, the padyatra traversed through Hazratganj, Mahavir Park, Raipur, Bakshi Ka Talab, Tikari, Behar Karari, Fakalpur, Etonja, Nawada, Banoga, Ataria, Kavran, Shahjahnpur, Godhana, Athraula, Kuchara Bangla, Biju Amore, Maninapur, Sirsauli, Singhauli, Madaripur, Jatora, Manpara, Sitapur, Chadar, Maholi, Faridpur and many more villages and reached Bareilly on December 5.
