“VANVASI Kalyan Ashram will reach a large section of people in and outside the country through print and electronic media to inform them about the achievements it has brought about during the last six decades,” said senior Pracharak Shri Prasanna Damodar Sapre while addressing a gathering of State media in-charge of Kalyan Ashram in Gurgaon (Haryana) on August 27. He emphasised that the workers dealing with the media should contact all pressmen of print and electronic media to publicise the achievements of the Kalyan Ashram.

The State media incharges, publication incharges and editors of periodicals published by Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram at both national and State levels attended the two-day workshop. Shri Somayajulu, national organising secretary of Kalyan Ashram stressed the need to publicise the facts based on documental evidences. He said the Vanvasis have very glorious history and rich heritage. They have a long list of heroes who sacrificed their lives for the safety and security of the nation. This information should be brought to limelight, he said. He further said, “Truth is behind the curtain and false propaganda is going on against Vanvasis. Fact is that they are very well-civilised, hospitable and ahead in all national movements from time immemorial. Kalyan Ashram is going to celebrate the coming year 2012-13 as Shakti Sanchay Varsh (the year of empowerment) and next year 2013-14 as birth centenary of its founder Balasaheb Deshpande.” He told the media incharges to strengthen the network from State to the block level.

The delegates were imparted practical training by experts from the media. The experts explained in detail about the need for going to the media and how to present the information of different organisational events to the media. Shri Vinod Bansal, Media in-charge of the Indraprastha Vishwa Hindu Parishad was another resource person, who taught the delegates how to prepare press statements so that it is taken by the media immediately. Shri Hanuman Narayan, Akhil Prachar Prasar Pramukh of Kalyan Ashram and Shri Pramod Pethkar, Akhil Bharatiya Prakashan Pramukh in their separate sessions explained in detail the different methods for publicity.
