PEOPLE sitting on top have failed to curb corruption and price rise in the country. Those who have been entrusted the task of protecting the treasury are stashing it away in aboard. This has to be stopped,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat. He was addressing a public meeting organised at Bihariganj under Madhepura in Bihar on July 16. More than 12,000 people belonging to 24 villages of the region participated in the meeting. Shri Bhagwat was on his six-day tour to Bihar.
When asked by local mediapersons whether he supports Baba Ramdev or Anna Hazare on corruption and black money, Shri Bhagwat said, “We are on the side of dharma and want that the money stashed away abroad must be brought back and corrupt must be put behind bars.”
Talking about the wealth found in Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple of Kerala, he said the wealth stored in the temple had been donated by the kings of Travancore and they possess complete detail of it. “The kings there truly acted as sevak of God and never misused the temple property. Once I visited the temple. We were stopped in the queue because the King was coming to perform puja. When the King came he entered the temple after washing hands and feet. After performing the puja when he came out he again washed his feet and hands. I asked the reason why the King did that after performing the puja. I was told that it was to ensure that the King did not take even an iota of anything from the temple. It is the kind of transparency that the kings of Travancore followed and is still followed,” Shri Bhagwat said.
Shri Bhagwat further said the Sangh workers have set an example of patriotism and dedication worth emulating by the entire society. Whenever there is a need, swayamsevaks reach first to serve the needy. He also expressed concern over the growing number of infiltrators in the country and stressed the need to take effective steps to save the Indian soil from the foreigners.
During his six-day tour, the Sarsanghachalak inaugurated a hospital run by the Bharat Vikas Viklang Trust in Patna on July 13 and presented and artificial limb to a physically challenged woman. He also met other patients of the hospital. After the function, he unveiled an umbrella over the stature of Sant Ravidas installed at the premises of Mahavir Temple. Addressing the gathering there, he said the path shown by Sant Ravidas is still worth emulating.
Shri Bhagwat inaugurated a school building at Kaitola village under Madhubani. Run by Vidya Bharati, the school building has been built with the financial assistance provided by MLC Shri Baleshwar Singh Bharati. Speaking on the occasion, the Sarsanghachalak said the western model of education only makes a person capable of earning livelihood but the Indian education system makes the man a complete human being. He said the education being imparted by Vidya Bharati schools involves all the basic Indian traditions.
On July 15 Shri Bhagwat performed guru pujan at Kamla Nehru Library of Darbhanga. Speaking on the occasion he stressed on sewa and samarpan. In the last phase of his tour he inaugurated a hospital and a school building built by Vidya Bharati and Sewa International in flood-affected Bihariganj of Madhepura.
