“BEFORE writing on any issue we should also study the views on the same issue which are against the established thinking. Only then we can present a balanced view with full facts and logics,” said RSS Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bajrang Lal Gupt. He was speaking at a workshop of writers organised in Jalandhar on May 8. The workshop was organised by the Vishwa Samvad Kendra, Jalandhar at Delhi Public School.
Dr Gupt appealed to the writers not to keep the doors of their mind closed and keep them open for modern and new ideas. “We represent the culture which has moderate view even about its opponents, whereas the other cultures do not have any such freedom,” he said.
Dr Kuldip Agnihotri of the Bharat Tibbet Sahayog Manch stressed the need to preserve the rich treasure of Sanskrit manuscripts. He said the material mentioned in the manuscripts should also be published. Noted writer Shri Dharmpal drew the attention to cultural pollution. He also expressed concern over the growing habit of addiction, conversions, imbalance in sex ratio, etc. in Punjab.
Shri Irvin Khanna, editor of Uttam Hindu, hit upon the negative mentality of the media and said by just looking at negative aspects of any issue we also become part of the negative mentality and we do not present any solution to the problem. He stressed the need to encourage the writers to write on developmental issues.
RSS Punjab Prant Pracharak Shri Kishore Kant said the good works being done by certain people in the society like Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, Sant Sewa Singh Khadur Sahib and others should be highlighted as they inspire others. Shri Rajendra Chadha from Pragya Pravah, Dr Pawan Singla from Punjab University and Dr Dinesh Sharma from AV College Pathankote also spoke on the occasion.
