Eco-friendly new Karnataka BJP office ‘Jagannatha Bhavan’

THE BJP in Karnataka will now function from an ultra modern office. The new hi-tech office is dedicated to hundreds of Jan Sangh leaders, senior party workers, BJP well-wishers and named after ‘Lion of Karnataka’ Jagannathrao Joshi symbolically. Though born in Karnataka, Jagannathrao Joshi elected to Lok Sabha twice from Madhya Pradesh and played a key role in establishing Jan Sangh in Karnataka.

The new office which is constructed at a cost of 4.5 crore in just 18 months with a built up area of 17,000 sft spread across five floors. It incorporates ‘Vaastu’ principles and boasts of all modern amenities including sensor monitored intelligent fire fighting systems, rain water harvesting, CCTV, huge solar water systems and wi-fi high speed wireless internet connection.

After successfully raising the required amount from party well-wishers to construct ‘Jagannatha Bhavan’ in Malleshwaram and moving to the first ever own building in the State, BJP State office in Karnataka has decided to construct similar offices in few other districts in order to vacate rented premises over there.

While the ground floor is reserved for parking, the administrative office will function from 1st floor. The office of the State president and offices for the national office bearers too is accommodated in the first floor. An advanced media centre with the state of the art technology in audio visual systems is located in the second floor and a special care has taken to conduct a smooth press conference by adopting media friendly initiatives like creating separate platform for cameramen, dedicated cables for live coverage in a spacious room which can house 80 persons. Day to day political affairs details and rare books on different issues will be carefully preserved by a research team in a reference library located in the second floor. Also the work stations have been erected in the second floor for the State office bearers, morcha and different cell presidents. Third floor has a meeting hall for 200 people and helps the party to conduct meetings in a most professional manner. Forth floor has a spacious kitchen and a well designed dining hall. Accommodation facility for the office bearers who comes for attending meetings from far away places is situated on the fourth floor while the portion of the open terrace space for organising special programmes is available on the fifth floor.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Advani said, the selfless service and tireless hard work by the leaders of Jan Sangh and party workers have saved the democracy in the country. He further said democracy is intact in Bharat because of Jan Sangh’s struggle. Shri Advani was speaking after inaugurating the new BJP office ‘Jagannatha Bhavan’ in Malleswaram, Bengaluru on April 28.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Yeddyurappa said Congress party is vanishing in Karnataka and BJP is emerging stronger. “As the Communist party ruled for 3 decades in West Bengal , BJP will rule Karnataka for 3 to 4 decades” he said confidently. He was so enthusiastic to announce that his government will overtake Gujarat in implementing developmental works.

Several former and present BJP office secretaries including Shri Hemanth Kumar, Shri Shantharam, Shri MH Sridhar Sathya Narayana Rao and Shri Keshava Prasad were honoured for their dedicated contribution in strengthening the party in the State.

Shri DB Chandre Gowda, MP, Bengaluru North, Shri Sathis, national leader and member of the BJP Karnataka core committee, Shri Sadananda Gowda, former president of BJP Karnataka, Shri Ananth Kumar, National General Secretary, Shri K.S. Eashwarappa, State BJP President, Shri Ramlal, Shri Shyam Jaju, MP and Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, MP, National General Secretary and Incharge of Karnataka affairs were also present on the occasion.
