Presenting the Samman, Shri Mohan Bhagwat highlighted the depth and importance of pragya (knowledge) in Bharatiya culture and Hindu ethos. Senior BJP leader Dr Murli Manohar Joshi said patriotism can never be disassociated from the very basic human instinct and nature, much like motherly love and compassion.
