DEEPLY hurt over the growing incidents of corruption at high level, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) and Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), with the active support of the general public, have decided to launch a countrywide mass agitation against corruption. Briefing the mediapersons in New Delhi on March 18 about the two resolutions passed at Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha, RSS National Executive Member Shri Ram Madhav said the joint agitation would begin shortly and all the Sangh swayamsevaks have been advised to take active part in the agitation. “The leaders of BMS, ABVP and BKS are working on the details and modalities of the agitation and they would announce it shortly. It will be a mass agitation in true sense,” said Shri Ram Madhav.

Enumerating the details of the resolution on corruption Shri Ram Madhav said all the delegates attending the Pratinidhi Sabha were deeply hurt over the repeated incidents of corruption in the country and opined that such incidents have tarnished the image of the entire nation. He also stated that because of rampant corruption, Indian democracy has become a laughing stock in the eyes of the world and has dented its image. He said the RSS supports all those individuals or the organisations which are already fighting against corruption through different activities but at the same time made it clear that it would not support any activity which aims at getting political mileage.

Shri Madhav further pointed that the ABVP is fighting against corruption for the last six months, in association with the BMS and the BKS, which are mass based organisations. Now they would fight against corruption at the village level. “It will be a joint fight against corruption by youth, students, labourers and the farmers,” he added.

Shri Ram Madhav said despite a sustained campaign against the RSS on the part of some vested interests to defame it, the number of RSS shakhas increased all over the country during the last year. About the nationwide awareness campaign conducted by the RSS he said that over 10 crore people belonging to about two crore families were contacted during the campaign. “When our activists reached the people, they outrightly rejected the propaganda against the RSS,” he said.(FOC)
