VISHWA Adhyayan Kendra, Mumbai, organised a Holi Milan function at Mulund in Mumbai on March 19. The function began with a symbolic puja by a priest. Shri Sunil Mishra welcomed the gathering and initiated the session. It was followed by a brief lecture by Dr Ram Niwas, Pracharak from Myanmar. The main highlight of the programme was the participation of 10 young boys-who had abandoned their homes-and 2 senior volunteers of Samatol Foundation, Thane. It is to be noted that these 10 boys came to Mumbai from far-off places due to various personal reasons but were luckily rescued from railway stations by the Samatol volunteers. The interaction session with the boys was a very emotional one where they introduced themselves individually and narrated what had prompted each of them to take the extreme step of abandoning their homes and fleeing to Mumbai. The volunteers mentioned that after rescuing such boys Samatol organises ‘Transformation Camps’ and eventually plans their return to their respective families at the earliest.(FOC)
