“THE Governments of today have forgotten the integrity of the nation and are treating the country as a private property. They must treat the country as matrubhumi (motherland),” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat, while addressing a huge gathering of uniformed swayamsevaks at Puttur town of Karnataka on March 6. He was addressing the RSS Sanghik function organised at the premises of Vivekananda High School as a prologue to the Akhil Bharateeya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) meeting to be held from March 11 to 13.
More than 15,000 uniformed swayamsevaks and thousands of well wishers participated in this function. Senior Sangh leaders including Sarkaryavah Shri Suresh Joshi, Mangalore Kshetra Sah Sanghachalak Dr Vaman Shenoy, state minister Shri Krishna J Palemar, MP Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Shri Yogish Bhat and others were also present on the occasion.
Shri Bhagwat motivated the gathering by saying, “People get pessimistic about the future of the country after looking at so many problems in the country. But, there is no space for pessimism in RSS. RSS is self-motivated and is working to take the country to the pinnacle of glory. No problem of the country is too big. They seem big, when we become weak. By restarting the worshiping of shakti (strength) on the path of Hindutva the RSS is trying to find solutions for all the national challenges. Swayamsevaks dedicate themselves to the progress of the nation, without expecting anything in return. They are working to unite and nationalise the whole society,” he said.
Putting across his thoughts over the Kashmir issue, Shri Bhagwat said that in spite of having all the documents, which show J&K as an integral part of India, we are still fighting to hold J&K as a part of India. Taking Kashmir issue to UN had deepened the crisis and it is pathetic to notice other countries trying to solve the crisis. The people of Jammu and Ladakh, four lakh Kashmiri Pandits, 33,000 Sikhs and a section of Muslims who are the residents of Kashmir desire Jammu and Kashmir to remain as an integral part of India. But the issue has been complicated by the government. The topic of discussion should have been only about regaining the lost territories of J&K. But, leaving this, the government is talking to anti-national separatists, who are demanding dominion status for J&K, he lamented.
“Hinduism is the strength of our nation. Despite Muslim kings ruling India for about 500 years, none of their tactics couldn’t weaken the spirit of Hindu culture. But as the former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam has said, the Hindus have remained as slaves because they refuse to use the power,” he said. He also urged Hindus to worship shakti and use it for nation building.
Expressing concern over the vote bank politics, he criticised a section of political parties for differentiating between the voters based on religion. Just for the sake of minority votes, a political party dares to call India as a nation with majority terrorists (Hindus). If Hindus themselves are called as terrorists in their own nation, then what we can expect from such parties, he questioned. And he asserted that, no one can break or destroy the RSS.
Talking about corruption, Shri Bhagwat said the top brass of the country are indulging in heinous act of corruption. They have stashed away the hard earned money of people in secret foreign accounts. This exposes the dishonesty of the rulers who claim to lead the country to prosperity. Not just the Army and Police people are the power of the country. The awakened society is the real power of the country.
Quoting the views of Noble laureate Rabindranath Tagore, Shri Bhagawat said Tagore in his essay on ‘Swadeshi Samaj’ has clearly said that the day would come when the Indians would find a way out to solve the problems prevailing between the Hindus and the Muslims in India and that solution would be in the form of Hindutva.
