THE practice of providing Haj subsidy started in the year 1991, courtesy power hungry politicians. Hindus are so generous that they have allowed this magnanimous gesture, though not constitutional. But what the Hindus get in return when they go to Amaranth yatra in the Jammu and Kashmir State which is Muslim dominated. They get only deadly Islamic attacks and are not even provided basic facilities which the pilgrims are supposed to get. On the other hand Haj houses have been built at the cost of Hindu tax payers money all over India where the Hajis can take rest. If this attitude of the power hungry politicians continue, a day is not far off when the Hindus who constitute 80 per cent of the population will be thrown out of Bharat and Bharat will get converted to another Pakistan.
How much more for Hajis?
A very revealing fact has been obtained from the Ministry of External Affairs through the Right To Information Act (RTI). As per this information, the Indian government has spent a staggering sum of Rs 2,891.77 crore for the Haj pilgrimage in the last 5 years.
The editor-in-general of Suchana Adhikar Manch DC Gupta and the publishing editor Kumar Sarin had asked the Ministry of External Affairs about Haj subsidy given to the Muslims. The external affairs secretary Manbir Singh replied in writing that the Central government has been providing this Haj subsidy since 1991.
Manbir revealed that in the last 5 years, a total of Rs 2,891.77 crore have been spent for 640,792 Haj pilgrims. He also mentioned that between 2008 and 2009, 121,695 pilgrims went to Haj from the country. The government provided a subsidy of Rs 70,238 rupees (US $ 1,634) per person and a total of Rs 864.77 crore (US $ 201,162,791) was spent in just one year.
The ministry has also informed that the Indian government does not provide any subsidy for pilgrimage for any other religious group.
As per a Hindustan Times news article published on April 10, 2010, it was disclosed that the Central government spent Rs 367 crore (US $ 85,348,837) in 2006, Rs 390 crore (US $ 90,697,675) in 2007 and Rs 826 crore (US $ 192,093,023) in 2008 as subsidy for the Haj pilgrimage.
