AYODYA is like a Vatican City to Hindus and when a temple can’t be constructed at Vatican or at Mecca how can a mosque be constructed at Ayodhya said Mahant Aditiya Nath MP from Gorakhpur, member Ramjanama Sangarsh Samiti and reiterated that the Samiti is committed to the construction of Sri Ram Temple at Ayodhya, while addressing a Virat Hindu Sammelan organised by the Hanumat Jagran Samiti in Jammu.

He said since 1528 after a sepoy of Babar dismantled Sri Ram Temple at Ayodhya to construct the mosque there, 76 times Hindus have made attempts to reconstruct the temple there and “we have been waiting for a verdict in our favour for over last 60 years now’’. Reiterating claim over the Ramjanamabhoomi, he said the Hindus of this country have never given up this claim.

Lambasting Congress general secretary, Rahul Gandhi and his party for unnecessarily raking up issue of Hindu terrorism, he said the statement of Congress general secretary that country has no threat from LeT but Hindu Aattankwad is unfortunate. “Mr Gandhi is not to be blamed as he is totally ignorant of Indian culture’’, he added.

He said Rahul had insulted crores of Hindus by passing such statements. “The Congress leadership has been humiliating the Hindus with one way or the other. It is high time for opposing the appeasement policy of the Congress,” he said.

He added that maltreatment is being given to Sadhvi Pragaya Thakur, who was arrested in connection with the Malegaon blast case. “Her health has been deteriorating because of low quality food being given to her in the jail,” he said, adding, “On the other hand, mutton and chicken biryanis are being served to Kasab and Afzal Guru in the jails.”

What this nation can expect from Congress leaders else than this, he said. They remained calm and neither the Prime Minister, nor President, or any rights organisation talked when over seven lakh Hindus were thrown out from Valley but raised a hue and cry over the Gujarat , he added.

He said those who advocate for the construction of mosque along the temple are wrong and warned that his organisation will not allow the Government to convert this nation into a loaf of bread so that everybody will come and take his piece.

Jai Bhan Singh Pawaiya, Minister of Madhya Pardesh and ex-convenor Bajrang Dal while addressing the sammelan said Ayodhya has same relevance and significance for the Hindus as Mecca has for a Muslim and made it clear that nothing except the Ram Temple is acceptable at Ramjanamabhoomi. He said that there should be no compromise on national flag, national issues and national anthem and strongly advocated for cancellation of citizenship of those who disrespect the national flag.

Criticising the Government for its anti Hindu policies he said a total ban has been imposed over setting up of industries in Agra to protect the 450 year old Taj Mahal but at the same time over 17 lakh year old Ram Sethu has been destroyed at Rameshwaram.

He said Governments in four BJP ruled states were disbanded after the December 6, 1992 demolition at Ayodhya but Omar Abdullah who opposes the hanging of Afzal and challenges the merger of the State with India is being fully supported by the Congress.

Paweya cautioned the majority community against the policies being propagated by the Congress to get Muslim votes. “Such policies would encourage terrorist outfits and fundamentalist forces in the country,” he added.

Others who addressed the Sammelan included Swami Kumar Ji, Mahant Rameshwar Dass and Brig (retd) Suchet Singh.

The function started in the morning with havan in which ahooties were offered by all participants. This was followed by kirtans and pravachans.

The function was organised by the Hanumat Jagran Samiti and a solemn pledge was taken for the construction of Sri Ram temple at Ayodhya.
