RECENTLY three Vanvasi Hit Raksha Sammelans were organised by the Vanvasi Hit Raksha Samiti of Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram in Chhattisgarh. The Vanvasis assembled at the Sammelans demanded the government authorities to stop issuing bogus certificates to non-Vanvasis. They also said the encroachment of Vanvasi land should be stopped and the Vanvasis should be saved from Bangladeshi infiltrators. Addressing a Sammelan, Kalyan Ashram general secretary Shri Gunvant Singh Kothari said protection of forest is the prime demand of Vanvasis. “Forest employees are not working properly for maintaining the greenery of forests whereas they are getting salary for it. There is corruption in constructing roads, wells and ponds,” he said. (FOC)
