Countrywide celebration on Vijayadashami: A Report

LIKE every year, the Vijayadashami festival, which is also the foundation day of RSS, was celebrated across the country on October 17 by RSS swayamsevaks. The main function was held in Nagpur which was addressed by RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat and noted musician Shri Hridyanath Mangeshkar was the chief guest. The functions were also held in all State units. Shastrapujan and pathsanchalan marked the occasion.

The swayamsevaks in Kashi Mahanagar Dakshin conducted a pathsanchalan in full uniform. The pathsanchalan along with impressive ghosh display began from Kalidas Shikshan Sansthan Tapovan and passing through Ram Nagar Crossing, Tripaulia Gate, Panchavati Road, Shamivriksha, Quila Road, Shastri Crossing and Sahitya Naka concluded at Tapovan itself. It was widely welcomed by local people at different places.

Speaking at the function, Prant Pracharak Shri Abhay Kumar spoke about the life of the RSS founder Dr Hedgewar. He stressed the need to have a feeling of self-respect towards the nation. The nation is supreme for all of us. Talking about the threats from Pakistan and China he said protecting the nation is not the responsibility of Army alone, rather it is the collective duty of all the countrymen. Sahkshetra Sanghachalak of Uttar Pradesh Kshetra Prof Devendra Pratap Singh, Zila Sanghachalak Prof Satyendra Mishra, Vibhag Sharirik Pramukh Shri Rajan Pandey were also present on the occasion.

A similar function was held in Kashi Mahanagar Uttar also. Speaking at the function the RSS National Executive Member Shri Indresh Kumar said Vijayadashami is the festival of victory of good over evil. He said solution to all the problems is unity of the Hindus. Dr Mahendra Gupta presided over the function. Zila Sanghachalak Shri Premdas Agrawal was also present.

The function in Jodhpur was organised at Mahesh School premises. Speaking at the function Sah Sampark Pramukh of Rajasthan Kshetra Shri Prakash Chandra said the RSS has been working to build national character. More than 1,150 uniformed swayamsevaks conducted pathsanchalan there.

In Delhi, the functions were held at the district and the nagar level. Apart from performing shastrapujan the functions were addressed by senior adhikaris. General secretary (organisation) of VHP Shri Dinesh Chandra, National Executive Member of RSS Shri Ram Madhav and Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bajrang Lal Gupt also addressed some of the functions.
