WITH an aim to create awareness in the areas, close to international border with Pakistan, and to make the citizen vigilant, a new all India organisation, Seema Jan Kalyan Smiti(SJKS), is getting ready to set up 50 Shakti Kendras. Till May this year SJKS, was only a State level organisation, active in the border districts of Rajasthan. But in the meeting of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh at Jammu, it was decided to make it a national organisation, covering states like Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat, having a long border with Pakistan. According to Shri Neem Singh, its organising secretary for Rajasthan, about two dozen such Kendras were already functioning in border districts and these would be strengthened now, as per the all India plan prepared at Jammu.
In the month of September Shri Rakesh Kumar, national organisational secretary of the Samiti, had undertaken a fortnight tour of districts like Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Barmer and Jaisalmer to identify the places where new Kendras would be set “Though SJKS would function independently , it would drive inspiration from the RSS. In these border area the presence of RSS is not to the expectations so we are keen to have youths on our side to infuse them with nationalism” said Shri Neem Singh.
About 200 youths have already become members of this organisation and they would be given training to run these Kendras. Members of SJKS would work in cooperation with local administration and Border Security Force to undertake awareness programme
Owing to hardship and other difficulties, a good number of people are leaving border areas to settle somewhere else to earn bread and butter for the family. In such a situation border areas are becoming venerable to anti national elements and are helping Pakistan’s spy agency ISI to send or recruit its agents. “We would persue the residents to remain in their respective areas,” said Shri Neem Singh.
SJKS has prepared a ambitious programme to under-take yatras from borders states. This is a long drawn programme under which these yatras, after covering the border areas in respective states, would converge at Bikaner in November 2011. Group of yataris would start the yatra in such a way that they would cover all the districts before reaching at Bikaner.
