THE Sant Uchchadhikar Samiti meeting held in Ayodhya on October 20 has made it clear that the Hindus have been worshiping Sri Ramjamasthan in Ayodhya as a deity since centuries and division of this sacred place, as ordered by the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court, cannot be accepted. The saints also reiterated that no mosque would be allowed to be constructed within the cultural boundary of Ayodhya Teertha.

Goraksha Peethadhishwar Mahant Avedyanath Maharaj presided over the meeting. Apart from the senior saints including Shankaracharya Vasudevanand Saraswati, Ramjanmabhoomi Trust president Mahant Nrityagopal Das, Jagadguru Madhvacharya Swami Vishvesh Teertha, VHP president Shri Ashok Singhal and general secretary Dr Pravin Togadia were also present at the meeting. The Sant Uchchadikar Samiti unanimously adopted a resolution at the meeting. Following is the full text of the resolution:

“The place where Sri Ramlala presides today is the janmabhoomi of Sri Ram.” By accepting this Sanatan truth the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court has developed a sense of happiness in the hearts of crores of justice loving people. The Sant Uchchadhikar Samiti wholeheartedly welcomes this verdict of the court.

Sri RamlallaVirajman and His birthplace are both deities. It is the shastriya and cultural belief of the Hindu society since time immemorial and the Hindu society has been worshiping this place in this form only. But despite unanimously accepting this belief of the Hindu society the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court has ordered for dividing the place which is a deity. The Hindu society and the saints do not accept it at all. The Hindu society has been performing parikrama of this 135-ft long and 90-ft wide place since forever. The parikrama sthan carved out around the disputed place according to Vastushastra, symbolises the divinity of the deity and also the boundary of the Janmasthan deity since centuries.

The Sant Uchchadhikar Samiti believes that the reconstruction of a grand Sri Ram temple at Sri Ram Janmasthan is a matter of honour not only for the Hindu society but also for the Muslim society. Mahatma Gandhi also had said that the Hindus, Muslims and Parsis should feel proud of the country where the great personalities like Sri Ramchandra have been. We pray to Sri Ramlalla to enlighten the patriotic Indian Muslims so that they extend their help in the holy resolve and act of temple construction.

The High Court has ordered to give one-third land of the disputed site to Muslim community. It is a golden opportunity before the Indian Muslims that they willingly dedicate this one third land to Sri Ramlalla Virajman and remove the communal tension going on since many decades and also pave the way for developing cordial relations with the Hindu society.

The Sant Uchchadhikar Samiti unanimously makes it clear that according to Hindu scriptures and traditions the ownership of the Sthan belongs to Sri Ramlalla Virajman only.

The Samiti also considers it as a duty to reiterate that the 67 acre land acquired by Government of India is the Kreedabhoomi, Lilabhoomi and Samskarbhoomi of Maryada Purushottam Prabhu Sri Ram. A grand and magnificent temple as per His glory explained in the scriptures will be constructed over the entire premises including Janmasthan and the acquired land, and only with the carved stones lying in Ayodhya workshop. Entire Ayodhya is the most revered pilgrimage centre of Hindus and protecting its natural form is the primary national duty of all the saints and the entire Hindu society. In this situation, no mosque will be constructed within the cultural boundary of Ayodhya Teertha.

The Great poet Valmiki has explained the beauty, importance, geography and the Ramrajya in detail in the Ramayana. Ayodhya city has been the holiest pilgrimage centre for Hindus since ancient time. Crores of Hindus from across the world have been visiting this place to draw inspiration from great cultural ideals and maryada of Sri Ram and they will continue to visit it in future also. Therefore, the Sant Uchchadhikar Samiti demands that the state government should reconstitute Ayodhya Development Authority as ‘Ayodhya Teertha Authority’.

The Sant Uchchadhikar Samiti has kept the doors for dialogue open. We shall extend positive support to all such efforts in future as per our culture, values of life, traditions and the belief of crores of Hindus.

It is a well known fact that Union Cabinet had taken a decision to reconstruct the Somnath Temple during the Prime Ministership of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru. The prant pratistha ceremony of the temple reconstructed with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi was performed by the then President of India Dr Rajendra Prasad. The Samiti appeals to the Government of India that it should fulfill its promise made before the Supreme Court through an affidavit and pave the way for reconstruction of Sri Ram temple in Ayodhya by handing over the entire land to Hindu society through enactment of a law for permanent solution like the Somnath temple.

The Sant Uchchadhikar Samiti believes that it is the impact of the religious ceremonies like Hanumat Shakti Jagran campaign that the Hindus got partial success in this matter. Therefore, all the ceremonies of Hanumat Shakti Jagran Mahayajna Anushthan and Sant Sammelan should be conducted as per previous schedule.
