NAGPUR: Impressed by the rare display of discipline and courage by the Bal and Shishu swayamsevaks of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the sprawling Yashwant Stadium in the heart of Nagpur on October 10 famous film and television actor of ‘Shaktimaan’ fame Shri Mukesh Khanna confessed that the children were “fit to become Shaktimaan.

“You are all fit to become Shaktimaan” as you are disciplined. The RSS is the most disciplined organisation in the country, and being a part of it you are getting trained physically, psychologically and intellectually. Today the country needs more ‘Shaktimaans’ cutting across the barriers of religion, caste, etc.”, he said while addressing the Vijayadashami function of Bal and Shishu swayamsevaks of Nagpur. Shri Khanna said sadhana was necessary to explore the power hidden in our minds and brains. Devotion, meditation, concentration and change in lifestyle are some of the aspects of this sadhana. He called upon the parents of the swayamsevaks to make them stronger so that they can face challenges in future.

Vidarbha Prant Sahsanghachalak Shri Ram Harkare, Nagpur Mahanagar Sanghachalak Dr Dilip Gupta, Sahsanghachalak Shri Laxmanrao Pardikar and Vidarbha Prant Sahkaryawah Shri Deepak Tamshettiwar were prominently present on the occasion. Throwing light on RSS’ efforts to inculcate good values among the children to make them good citizens, Shri Deepak Tamshettiwar said RSS shakha was a centre of inculcating all such good moral samskars among the children so that they become good, responsible citizens in the future. Lamenting the disintegration of family system in Indian society, he said the families used to be the centres of inculcating samskars. But with the breaking of families this system is crumbling. The RSS is trying to fill the vacuum and instill national pride and values among the younger generation.

Earlier nearly 1,000 Bal and Shishu swayamsevaks clad in khaki and white uniform performed physical drill, yoga, pathsanchalan, etc. The special attraction was the band platoon of Bal swayamsevaks. They presented band tunes with perfect harmony and synchronisation.
