IN order to educate the people of the sacrifices of soldiers, the Sainya Matrishakti is organising Bharat Jagran Week. The campaign began on June 18 with paying tribute to Rani Lakshmibai. It is to be noted that Rani Lakshmibai along with many soldiers had sacrificed her life for the nation on this day in 1858. The second programme will be organised on June 21 to pay tribute to Maharana Pratap. The third programme will be organised on June 24 to remember the formation of the Hindu Samrajya by Chhatrapati Shivaji. During this week-long campaign the people, especially the women, will be educated about these three incidents of the history. Sainya Matrishakti has decided to start some concrete activities to unite the women and also to engage the women in constructive activities. Smt Shashimani Tripathi, wife of former MP Lt. General (retd) Shri SPM Tripathi, and president of the Sainya Matri Shakti, has written to Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting to telecast some special programme on Doordarshan and All India Radio highlighting the life and work of freedom fighters.
