“EKAL Vidyalayas being run in remote areas of the country are not just the medium of imparting education but are the effective solution to many problems like unemployment, illiteracy, terrorism etc that the people are facing in many parts of the country. This Abhiyan is also a bridge of strengthening the feeling of social harmony between the Vanvasis and Nagarvisis,” said Margadarshak of Ekal Vidyalaya Abhiyan Shri Shyam Gupt. He was speaking at a Rashtriya Kavi Sammelan organised in New Delhi for the promotion of single teacher scheme launched by Bharat Lok Shiksha Parishad. Many leading poets of the country participated in the Kavi Sammelan.

Shri Shyam Gupt pointed out that Bharat Lok Shiksha Parishad aims to increase the number of Ekal Vidyalayas in the country to one lakh by the year 2013. Prominent Hindi poets who presented their poems at the Sammelan included Shri Rajesh Chetan, Dr Hariom Panwar, Shahnaz Hindusthani, Shri Gajendra Solanki, Smt Anju Jain, Shri Pradip Chaube and Dr Sunil Jogi.
