RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat was in Haridwar on April 12. He attended the Manthan-2010, a function organised by Divya Prem Seva Mission at Chandi Ghat. The topic of discussion was ‘Role of Indian Culture in Global Conflict’.

Addressing the gathering Shri Bhagwat said there should be no difference in our saying and doing and what we say should reflect in our actions also. He said whatever conflict we see in the world today is manmade and the reason of majority of the conflicts is science and modernity. “Earlier, we used to live in harmony with nature and there was no thinking of exploitation at all. But the modern science not only encouraged exploitation of the nature but also ruined the rich traditions and values of life. What we need today is to live in harmony with nature if we have to survive,” Shri Bhagwat said stressing the need to bring spirituality and science closer.

Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Swami Chidanand Muni, noted Kathavachak Shri Vijay Kaushal Maharaj, Uttarakhand Prant Sanghachalak Shri Chandrapal Singh Negi, founder of Divya Prem Sewa Mission Shri Ashish Gautam, senior journalist Shri Jawaharlal Kaul, Swami Kailashanand Brahmachari and Dr Anil Jain.
