Adhivakta Parishad and Arundhati Vashistha Anusandhan Peeth jointly organised a function in Allahabad to celebrate the Constitution Day on November 26. Addressing the gathering VHP president Shri Ashok Singhal said the policies of socialism adopted by the country after Independence made the countrymen dependent on government for everything. “We are blindly following the west for the last many decades, which is taking us nowhere,” he said. He said our village panchayats were strong enough to resolve even the complicated disputes and that is why the Panch had been accorded the status of Parmeshwar. “Can we say this today for our present judicial system,” he asked stressing the need to reject the western system of judiciary.
Speaking on the occasion former Union Minister Dr Subramanina Swamy said the word “We the People…” used in Preface of the Constitution has been used for Hindus who are living here since centuries. “Any outsider cannot join this class just by living here for some time and he/she can not occupy top constitutional post here,” he said.
He said there is no need of a new Constitution in the country and the present Constitution could be given the shape that can resolve all our problems. Citing the decision of a Constitution Bench in Farooqui case (1994) he said the bench clearly said a mosque could be acquired for public purpose. According to this decision, the land of Ramjanmbhoomi in Ayodhya can be acquired by the government and can easily be transferred for temple construction.
