Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari appealed to the world to turn to yoga for getting complete liberation from addiction. Addressing the 64th Session of United Nations General Assembly in New York on November 5, Shri Koshyari said apart from making strict laws to curb the trafficking of drugs, the addicted youth of the world ought to be inspired to take up yoga regularly and such other positive and spiritual things that could instill a new meaning to their lives. This would keep them away from drugs and also their involvement in anti-social or terrorist activities.

Shri Koshyari welcomed the political declaration and plan of action on internal cooperation towards an integrated and balanced strategy to counter the world’s drug problem, which was adopted at the high level meeting of the 52nd session of the Commission on Narcotics Drug in March this year.
