VHP protests fatwa against Vande Mataram

Delhi unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad organised a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on November 6 to protest the fatwa issued by Darul Ulum Devband against Vandematarm. The demonstrators burnt the effigy of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram who was also present at the convention when the fatwa was issued. The demonstrators also submitted a memorandum to President Smt Pratibha Patil demanding ban on Darul Ulum and an apology to the nation by Union Home Minister.

Addressing the demonstrators former MP Shri BL Sharma “Prem” said the fatwa against Vande Mataram would boost the morel of the separatists. He asked the Ulemas when Muslim countries like Afghanistan, Indonesia, Myanmar, Saudi Arab and Turkey can have national songs praising their country, why they don’t wish to praise their motherland India. State co-convenor of Bajrang Dal Shri Sailendra Jaiswal also addressed the demonstrators. VHP state general secretary Shri Satyendra Mohan, vice president Shri Mahaveer Prasad, organising secretary Shri Karuna Prakash, Bajrang Dal convenor Shri Ashok Kapoor, Durga Vahini convenor Anjali also participated in the demonstration.
