Congressmen oppose Margaret Alva’s appointment Sonia’s ploy to Christianise Uttarakhand?

Is there a conspiracy of Christianisation of Uttarakhand behind the appointment of “Christian activist Smt Margaret Alva” as Governor of Uttarakhand? At least a section of Congress Hindu leaders sees a sinister conspiracy behind this appointment. In a memorandum presented to Congress Disciplinary Committee chairman Shri AK Antony under the banner of Congress Secular Hindu Forum (CSHF), they demanded immediate replacement of Smt. Alva from Uttarakhand Governorship. Smt Alva was appointed Governor of Uttarakhand on July 18.

The Congress Hindu Forum general secretary K Ravi Kumar in his memorandum threatened to launch a strong agitation against the party leadership if their demand was not met. “If Congress leadership denies our demand, we will be left with no other alternative but to turn to a strong agitation against Congress leadership with the support of all like-minded Hindu Congress people. We can co-ordinate with other organisations also for the success of our movement. No doubt that the entire Hindu population will get together to protest against the Congress leadership,” the memorandum warns. They wondered how Smt. Alva, who had been removed from all responsibilities of Congress High Command, by Smt. Sonia Gandhi herself during the Karnataka Assembly elections, was appointed Governor of Uttarakhand.

The Forum appealed to Shri Antony to bring this issue to the notice of Smt. Sonia Gandhi and advise her to settle the issue amicably, which is acceptable to all sections of Congress workers. “We hope the Congress Disciplinary Committee will understand the gravity of the situation and will take suitable measures to avoid such unpleasant agitations, which may embarrass the party leadership, for which we should not be held liable,” Ravi Kumar added.

“The Himalayas is the holy land of Hindu believers in the world and the divine centres such as Haridwar, Rishikesh, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Uttarkashi, Karna Prayag, Rudra Prayag, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Alaknanda and some divine rivers are situated in the same land of Uttarakhand. So, it is a bounden duty and obligation of the Union Government to secure this holy land in its own atmosphere, culture and system. Smt. Margaret Alva is a Christian activist, gnostic and fervent for a Christian domination within the Congress Party. So, the Hindu believers, who are traditional voters of Indian National Congress analyse that there will be a sure chance for Christian conversions and other Christian promotional activities such as transferring the Government land for constructing churches or Prayer Halls to the Missionaries with the blessings of Smt. Margaret Alva,” the memorandum, dated July 27, alleged. A copy of the memorandum is with Organiser.

The memorandum found it absolutely a paradox that a Christian activist was appointed Governor to the state, which is considered a holy land of Hindu believers all over the world. “It is almost similar to a virtual ordination of a Bishop at the supreme seat of Jagadguru Shankaracharya. It is not agreeable before the conscience of the devotees,” the memorandum said.

“The Hindu believers in the Congress Party suspect that an attempt is going on for the Christianisation of holy places in Uttarakhand, transformation of Hindustan into Christianisthan. It is also suspected that all these hidden agendas were planned in advance with the knowledge of Smt. Soniaji. Christianisation is now a visible reality and Christian domination within the Congress Party as well as in other states is a fact by secluding the Hindu-Congress people from their eligible position. The question of Governorship of Uttarakhand is a relevant and fitting example of tactic and silent underplay against the Hindu followers of the Congress Party,” the memorandum further said.

“The Hindu-Congress people have a legacy, historicity and patriotism from the ages. It is not fair to betray their pride and dignity. But as a matter of fact Smt. Soniaji is knowingly or unknowingly taking a special interest to avoid the dignity of the Hindu Congress majority by unduly promoting the minority religious sects for the last ten years.

“We have noticed that certain decisions and activities of Congress leadership are even against the relevance of our great Indian Freedom Movement. It is the irony of fate that the same Congress Party, which fought for freedom from British Colonialist, surrenders our prides and privileges before the American Colonialism.

“We suspect that there might be a conspiracy in appointing Smt. Margaret Alva as the Governor of Uttarakhand. The Hindu believers in Congress Party consider that even Vatican and Indian Ecclesial hierarchy could have been involved… If the Congress Party gets majority to form a Government, there will be a wide Christianisation everywhere in that state with the tactical support of Smt. Alva within a span of five years. We have reason to believe this is one of the hidden agendas of that Governorship,” the memorandum said.
