CRPF to adopt Sanskrit college in Imphal

CRPF will adopt Radha MadhavSanskrit Mahavidyalya, Nambol, said IGP of CRPF (Nagaland and Manipur sector), VPS Panwar while speaking at the inauguration function of a computer block of the College in Imphal on May 24. The computer block, Maharishi Jemini Bhavan, constructed under civic action programme of the Central Paramilitary Force, was inaugurated by the IGP amidst chanting of Sanskrit hymns.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri VPS Panwar said the college would definitely surprise everybody, especially those coming from outside the State that in such a state of unrest, a college in this remote corner of the country is teaching Sanskrit to 700 students.

So the teachers and the management of the college deserve compliments from all sections of the society, he said and added that CRPF would adopt the college to look after its needs.

The IGP further announced that his Force would donate 100 plastic chairs, five tables, lecture stands, desks and chairs, Sanskrit compatible two computer sets, one DTH set, sports materials and Rs 10, 000 for the college.

The IGP also announced to contribute Rs 10, 000 more from his side to the college fund.

Saying that Veda, which is the treasure trove of knowledge, was written in Sanskrit, VPS Panwar observed that one has to learn Sanskrit to gain human wisdom.Speaking at the function, college Principal G Lalgopal Sharma expressed gratitude to CRPF for all its support extended to the college. College management committee president H Shyamkeshwar Sharma presided over the function. DIGs of CRPF Anil Duggal and SK Malik also shared the dais. (FOC)
