RSS Akhil Bharatiya Pracharak Pramukh Shri Madan Das appealed to the Vishwa Samvad Kendras and other news agencies in different parts of the country to develop credibility. He said truth must come in the media and it is a challenge that has to be faced. Shri Madan Das was releasing a souvenir, Disha, published by Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra (IVSK) on birth anniversary of Narad in New Delhi on May 12. Director of Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee Foundation Shri Tarun Vijay, former Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Shri Satyanarayan Bansal, Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Shri Ramesh Prakash and senior journalist Shri Narendra Sehgal were also present on the occasion.
Shri Madan Das further said the crisis of credibility developed in the media due to concealment and distortion of facts. He underlined the deliberate silence by media over some of the vital issues like uncontrolled infiltration from Bangladesh, conversion in Vanvasi areas, etc. He said this ignorance might prove very costly for the country.
Shri Tarun Vijay said the profession of journalism was passing through a very crucial phase in the country. Compare to English press, the journalism in Indian regional languages, he said, was setting healthy trends today. He expressed concern that the new generation of journalists does not wish to study the literature, which resulted in their poor command over the language. Shri Ravi Bansal, Delhi Prant Prachar Pramukh pointed out that Vishwa Samvad Kendras are working in 36 of the total 38 Prants. Shri Ramesh Prakash also spoke on the occasion.
